Toronto based rock/pop band described as Radiohead meets Crowded House.

I baught this album almost right when it was released. I had heard "Into Your Hideout" on the radio and was hooked. That quote above describes Pilate as "Radiohead meets Crowded House" and I think they got it right on. You would probebly really like this band if you're into bands like Radiohead. The vocals and guitar work are so similar. Pilate is basically like an even mellow-er Radiohead.:p

Now, there are quite a few good songs on this album, but theres also a lot of medicore-ness. About half of the album is amazing, and the other half I'm tempted to just skip over while listening to the CD. I'll review the best of the best, and the worst of the worse.

1. Endgame - This is good song to start off the CD with. It's a very mellow song. Slow quiet singing, piano. It's a really nice track. One of the better songs off the album.
Rating: 4/5

2. Melt Into The Walls - The song starts off with a really good "Radiohead type" riff. This is one of the singles off the album that's been getting some airplay. I think it's deservant as well.
Rating: 4/5

3. Into Your Hideout - This was the single that convinced me to buy the album. Simply an amazing song, easily the best song on the CD. If you decide to download any songs off this album, start with this track.
Rating: 5/5

4. Mercy - It's kind of weird how the 4 best tracks, are the first 4 tracks off the album. This song has got really good vocals, good guitaring. I like it a lot.
Rating: 4/5

6. Don't Waste Your Breath - I like the guitar work in this song, but that's about it.
Rating: 2.5/5

7. Collide - This song has the highest pitch singing on the entire album. Other than that one part, it's a boring song.
Rating: 2.5/5

The rest of the album is decent, just not good/bad enough to review the songs. I'd probably recommend Pilate someone whos into mellow, easy listening music. Stuff like Radiohead, U2 etc.

Rating: :D :D :D / :upset: :upset:

I've heard a couple of their songs and I thought they were pretty good. I might just buy it.

Wow, what a coincidence that you bumped this thread. I saw them live just last night, pretty solid performance.

As for my original rating of the album, I've gotten into them a lot more now. Songs that I didn't like before, I'm liking now.:thumb:
