Spawn Of Possesion are great, the riffing is insane.
I dislike their production (well, the production on Cabinet, I haven't heard any of their other stuff) it's way too trebley. More bass is needed!

The previous Decapitated I had heard didn't really stand out all that much to me, but this is great. Any more CD's similar to this?

Basically, anything by them would work. Personal favourites (for now, opinion changes every week) are pierced from within and despise the sun ep. I'm not sure about their latest one since I've only heard a couple of songs (cool production and quite melodic)

Maybe that's why there's nothing on it! I never understood the whole Kazaa thing anyway. Even if it wasn't chuck full of spy/ad-ware, it was a shitty program. Yes I'm aware that Kazaa-lite supposedly got rid of all the spy/ad-ware, but it didn't get rid of the fact that it was a shitty program.

Black Sheep - U Mean I'm Not
This IS rap. Old school rap at that. Not that **** on the radio. I will tell you that right now. But that's besides the point. The lyrics make it classic.
I also realize that these guys are a bit hard to understand, so it might take a few listens to get the lyrics, but I figured that we are death heads. We are used too undecipherable lyrics.
But just give it a listen.
Dude, why put this in the deaths head forum?

Tomasz - The Great Executor
Marek - Termonuclear Philosopher
Maras - Necrosodomic Corpse Molestator
Haha, I think I will love this band simply by the names of its members. :)
Edit: The guy has a good voice, the riffs are good, and the drumming intense, but nothing stands out. It sounds to be rather standard death metal, actually.
Out of the three songs they had for download, I liked Pure Total Death the best.

I must say, that their live performance owns their studio stuff by far.
especially his vocals own so much more live, but maybe he has just improved his harsh vocals, cause the album I have is an early album.
I saw thewm on the graspop festival, and it was the first band I saw there, so it was one hell of an opener for me :p

Behemoth
Amon Amarth
Dark Tranquillity

fiinding people with similair tastes in music is hard.
the people in my band like some good music, but the metal genre is so broad, that we all listen to different stuff :p
I'm the one with the most knowledge, and music.

it is different from going with a friend or a group of friends, but if I want to see a band, I want to see them, so I don't have much choice.
the one pro that I have, is that all people share my musical tastes at the gig, otherwise they wouldn't have bought their tickets anyway:p
the only poblem with the arcturus gig is, is starts at 9 in the evening, and they have an support act, so it will be quite a long show.
and there won't be any public transport to take me home after the gig ( which I think will end at 1:30 or so in the night)
so I have to spend the night in a hotel.
which is quite ashame, cause the tickets are very cheap (12 euros) but I have to pay loads to spend the night in a hotel :(
but I have to grap my chance to see them, I don't think they'll be touring in Holland for a long time after this

Awesome. I can't wait. Do they plan on touring?
Oh yeah, and do you know if they're from the US?
Well, they're a small group so I guess touring (outside their country at least) will be difficult. They're Italians.
By the way what is this:•••-••--•--? I saw another guy having it too.

Yes, that is him.
But he also used to be in Arcturus as backing vocals and did full time vocals on the song The Chaos Path on La Masquerade Infernale.
He was also in Borknagar and is also in Lamented Souls (his voice is perfect for doom metal heh).
Vortex is awesome, 'nuff said.
Does he always sing clean? He's got a good clean voice in my opinion.

In Borknagar he did harsh and clean, but in Lamented Souls he does 100% clean, and the work he did in Arcturus was completely clean.
Also Arcturus - Painting My Horror has a section of Garm and Vortex do a few lines in a duet, pretty sweet imo.

Its a code someone used to supposedly "tell us the concept, and the release date" of Tools new album. Pretty genius if you read how it reveals all that.

Well, they are all really great, but The Sham Mirrors is more of an album for most people to start out with.
But La Masquerade Infernale is just as good, if better actually but it tends to be more off the wall then The Sham Mirrors.

Yeah, thats true. I actually enjoy The Sham Mirrors more right now though. La Masquerade Infernale hasn't been that appealing to me... yet.

I'll put my conversation with the guy on here. I'm malignant5050.
The "morse code" was in an update on Tools website, and everyone was confused about it. This explains it all though,
malignant5050: Hey, Im from the Official Tool Thread on MX. I was wondering if you could maybe give me some clues with the new Tool album. Since you said you would do that in one on one conversation.
Neeshacker: ah yes
malignant5050: Im not really sure what to ask, haha
Neeshacker: can i trust you?
malignant5050: yeah
malignant5050: if you mean not telling people on mx, yes
malignant5050: or anyone else really
Neeshacker: yes
malignant5050: yeah you can
malignant5050: so have you heard any new songs or anything?
Neeshacker: nope
Neeshacker: ill tel u i a sec
malignant5050: ok
Neeshacker: ok
malignant5050: k
malignant5050: so do I ask you a question? Because Im not sure if you're typing something or not
Neeshacker: oh yes
Neeshacker: ok
Neeshacker: well the concept of the album is light
Neeshacker: eclipses the mooon
Neeshacker: etc.
Neeshacker: the release date is Sept. 25th
Neeshacker: with that being said
Neeshacker: and the morce code
Neeshacker: read this
Neeshacker wants to directly connect.
Neeshacker is now directly connected.
Neeshacker: ***-**--*-- = original symbol
Take the first 6 characters, because generally in a date there are 6 characters, for example (09/25/05)
***-**
There are 5 stars altogether, each with 5 points.
The first 3 stars, if multiplied by their points (3 x 5) would be 15.
The second set of stars, then multiplied by their points (2 x 5) would be 10.
This adds up to the 25th, the day of the last quarters of the moon, but Sundays are generally not days for a CD to be released.
Therefore the line, which is one by one persay, would simply be 1 and when added to the others would be 26, Monday.
--*--
The second 5 characters are the month.
Once again the star rule applies, 1 star multiplied by its 5 points would be 5.
When added to the four lines, this makes the ninth month, September, whose day the 25th is the last quarter of the moon.
Blair also affirmed this date, and added he could not make the information obvious at all to his fans, therefore he made it almost impossible, especially by putting the day before the month.
malignant5050: wow
malignant5050: thats awesome
Neeshacker: yeah man
malignant5050: thank you very much for stelling me this stuff
malignant5050: so is it going to be very heavy or was tool just messing with us or something?
Neeshacker: no idea on that
malignant5050: ok
malignant5050: well, thanks agian for telling me that

I just recently after looking at this thread decided to get into some true death metal beacuse you guys all seem to rave about so I thought "it must be good" Although I had heard Cannibal Corpse in the past I hated it, I was a little off put but you got to try.
At first I tried Crytospy but I found the vocals too growled. I am fine with Death Grunts but for me that wasn't even comprasenible and too growled. Usually I could get past something like that but I found the drums over the top. The blast beats I found became rediclous. Still very good stuff, very talented just drums and vocals turned me off.
I then tried Cynic. It was good but there is this werid electronic voice in the two songs I got which was easily barearble I just found a bit odd. Good and enjoyable.
I then tried Morbid Angel I downloaded a song called Da mnation which I though was killer. It was like Slayer only with Death Grunts so natuarally I embraced it. The vocals were good because they still at least compresible growls. I can see what Azargoth was saying this Trey guy is pretty good. His solos were mighty phat.
With my efforts rewarded I continued on Necrophagist on which I would later return to collect more Morbid and Cynic. Now this stuff was kicking. I downloaded two songs called Diminshed to be and Only Ashes Remain. The guitar and bass work made me cream my pants. Those guys know how to play.
Thank you everyone for showing some good music. I used to only listen to Melodic Death Metal. I shall investigate futher.
There was only a few problems that I found the drums good be ****ing annoying with the over the top blast beats but I guess they will grow on me. Necrophagist vocals were too loud in the mix who cares they sound very cool.
Would the true death heads here consider Lamb of God Death metal. Because I have had troubles outting them in any other genre.
They are not Melo Death for sure.
Not Thrash. Not Metalcore their is no hardcore punk influence in that at all.
So I call them Death Metal but I think they are really soft death at the lowest end of the spectrum of Death Metal (the lightest possible death metal if you will). They have all the elements to be death metal. When you hear stuff off their album As the Palaces Burn in sounds like other death metal. But I was just wondering on other peoples opinions.

So, what's the deal with Mayhem? I haven't heard any full albums and I think it's high time I get into them. What do you suggest? Everyone seems to always talk about Dead, but is he only on the Live album?
I know there's a bootleg called "Dawn of the Black Hearts," but what exactly is a bootleg? Was it recorded illegally? I don't see how it could have been if Mayhem put a picture of Dead's body on the cover.

Get Deathcrush :p and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. Deathcrush is only a 17 minute EP though.
Out From the Dark is good too, and quite raw, but I doubt you'll find it.
A bootleg is an unofficial release, an album released by perhaps fans of the band etc. The album art for that bootleg is a painting of the original picture.

It sounds like a decent and mature effort to give death metal a chance. Dont worry that you didnt get into Cannibal Corpse, Cynic and Cryptopsy. In fact I never really liked Cannibal Corpse, I also find the robot voice annoying on Focus and the Cryptopsy vocals have been a turn off for me too.
I would suggest checking the band Death if not already (especially their latest era). The vocals are quite accessible and even their fastest stuff is not tiring because of constant blastbeats. They're more midpaced with break downs and technical riffs. Make sure you download songs off all their albums as they sound a lot different from release to release. Oh and Death=Chuck Schuldiner
suggested songs:
Lack of Comprehension
Nothing is Everything
1000 eyes
Scavenger of Human Sorrow
I might not know very well how metalcore sounds but I certainly know how death metal sounds and Lamb of God clearly cannot be classified as death.
