Thank you for asking :)
Nine Inch Nails-The Downward Spiral is the greatest album for that kind of stuff if you ask me. When I was depressed for about a year, I listened to that... It didn't help me get out of depression really, but I don't know, I jsut loved listening to it.
I guess I just wanted to sit around and mope alot to get over it. :/
But I hope you get better, it took me about a year to do that. And it didn't really happen over time for me either like I thougth it would. I just kinda realized something one day, and I was... happy.

a year is certainly a long time, good for you you've survived through this. I've already started downloaded this NIN album. I really need some music, I'm becoming an internet addict I'm afraid and sitting in front of the PC for so many hours makes me dizzy

Yeah, thanks for that.
If you can't get into that album, download The Fragile, its more easy to get into. But The Downward Spiral is a great concept album.
I can even upload it for you if you want.

Lord dargon was a joke, there have been far more intelligent and knowledgable members in the past who have been able to do intelligent flaming. If it wasn't for metal-archives dargon would be ****ed.
Too true, bit of a novice I think.
Always came across as if he'd only been into this stuff for a year or so. I agree, there are fair better flamers here and much more knowledgable people.

They posted this on their MySpace.com account, which is a reliable source.
Also the dates are posted on Aborted's website and Suffocation's site.
Only thing is that Suffocation and Aborted's website says Cephalic Carnage is on the tour instead of Despised Icon.

Sverd stated, the new album would be way more mature, and that hey had grown much, as a band.
he said is t would be a sit back and listen album, not too wild.
busy times for Helhammer too, Age of Silence, Arcturus, Winds, hopefuly they will tour though.
And the Solafald album, would be the revival of true black metal, as stated by Lazare.

melodeath? Depresey, id post a link to the huge thread i made on them not too long ago, but i think all the you send its are expired. They arent too hard to find on soulseek though. They are however a bit heavier than your average Melodic Death Metal band.
Other than that rry Arghoslent, as long as you arent opposed to white power bands, they are one of the best MDM bands out there right now.

well melodeath and melodic death metal are essentially the same thing, slight difference to some people. Some consider melodeath to be more on the melodic side, and melodic death metal tends to be still quite melodic but with a bit more of obvious death metal influence. Esentially its the difference between like Dark Tranquillity and Arghoslent.

I heard my name and Peccatum?!?
Yeah, get songs off of either In Reverie or Amor Fati. Both are excellent albums. Very avant-garde stuff with metal leanings. You can occasionally hear some black metal but it's clear based on this project that Ihsahn doesn't care about that so much any more. His wife and he share the singing duites and do a great job not because her voice is beautiful but because its kind of quavery and adds a ton to the atmosphere. I'll post some audio later I have to leave right now.
^I thought for a second that was a quad post by 'Tender. I was shocked. And I'll be impressed by a Lykathea Aflame FA. I can find hardly anything on them except for that interview with Ptoe talking about his beliefs and such.
I've got this really weird thing that happens sometimes where everything feel in slow motion but I can move twice as fast so my typing right now feels amazing. It's been happening to me ever since I was little and had this weird re-occurring dream that sent me to the hosptial I was so freaked out. I used to hate this feeling but I've come to love it. Well I am going guitar --> effects board --> computer.
Another thing that helps your sound alot is recording both guitar parts and panning them. I panned both guitars 50% to each side, the bass in the middle, and the lead part that comes in also in the middle, with more reverb on it.
Yeah, I am extremely impressed with the tone I have discovered. :D

Sinners Bleed and Beneath the Massacre are kinda close to Necrophagist (not that much though).
For brutal death and/or grind: you might also like Suffocation, Nile, Origin, Dying Fetus, Severed Savior
For melodic death: At the Gates, Carcass, Arsis, Quo Vadis, Depresy, Arghoslent, The Chasm
For technical non brutal death: Death, Atheist, Pestilence, Gory Blister
There's a lot of stuff out there actually. If you're not familiar with Death and Atheist I have uploaded some songs on the YSI thread.

Me too, I got this killer idea for a Melodic Death song, and then my drum machine started to be weird... So the beat I wanted for the intro wouldn't work, and my guitar tone was bad. So I erased it after spending an hour an a half on it :(

On the other hand, it makes me feel elitist to know them. And like them. Warp Zone = a killer album

Corpus Mortale = band with a few Iniquity members.
I don't understand all the fuss about Suffocation really... They're kind of boring and they're not that brutal most the time to me :/
They're one of the pioneers of the New York brutal death metal scene, so that's probably why people praise them so much. I personally love Suffocation; Good technical death metal that has plently of thrash influence and a good guitar tone, and the drummer doesn't use alot of assraping blastbeats and annoying drumfills like alot of other death metal bands do.

There will be some fairly avant-garde suggestions thrown in.
Limbonic Art are definitely worth looking into. Early Arcturus, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir if you can take the harrassment, Blut Aus Nord, Capronicus, Dead Blue Sky, Diabolical Masquerade, Lux Occulta, The Elysian Fields, Embraced, Empyrium (when they play metal)
Indeed! Why are they changing their name all the time?!
How about avant garde?
No idea and I wish they would stop. That name predates Thomas Corn though. Still, whoever is drumming is awesome.
I lump that right in with mny symphonics. I've decided to rephrase that statement as Avan-garde/symphonic metal as opposed to just symphonic black metal.
