The lyrics are great. Kinda like Cannibal Corpse, only more real to suburban life:
Maim Rape Kill Rape
White-collared killer
Pray by day - **** the dead by night
Preach the book - brainwash the sheep
Kills as he shrieks with delight
A tendency for the younger ones
Little boys so unaware
Exploring orafices with unholy lust
Alive then dead, the molestation continues
Screaming boys crapping
Pimpled tongue lapping
Kidnap and sodomy
Necroproctology
Maim rape kill rape maim rape
[D.C.]
Grabbing the head of the blue child
He makes it suck his ****
Blowing his wad - blowing his mind
Blowing the corpses time after time
Arms and legs cut off
Torso raped vigorously
****-encrusted ***
Dead for his pleasure
Hacksawing flesh
Dissecting his victims
Spilling out organs - making love to innards
[E.C.]
Holy holes not holy anymore
Sanctuary for his **** - his whore
Gritty road to anal heaven
****ty balls, he was only eleven
Veil of god to conceal his deeds
Missing-list grows, he fulfilles his needs

I cannot stand lyrics like that, they truly mean nothing, and the concept of that is trying to be gross, which in the end is childish.

There are deeper meanings to lyrics than face value. I have not "studied" Autopsy's lyrics much, though bands like these have lyrics that may, for example be a reminder to the public of the final end, or the fact that death reigns supreme. It may be a way of exploring death also, for example. There are bands that don't see any meaning to their lyrics, such as Cannibal Corpse, or Korn, or others.

They hate him because he likes nu-metal. He's a cool guy if you actually talk to him. I'm quite sick of people picking on him for it. It seems that if you like nu-metal, you can't like death metal, and should stay away from discussing it. What? That's not what I expected Agnostic Front to sound like. I thought they were like, really old-school punk. It's ok but I liked that one punk song you posted a long time ago. Was that the Filaments?
And, I don't care about the DtDtP thing, becuase once Cain started on me everyone kind of just thought they would jump on the bandwagon. That's what it seemed like. However, next time I flame a poseur/n00b or call Trivium metalcore you'll probably just fly off the handle again. :-/

I have grown deeply sickened by the idiocy and ignorance rampant on these forums.
For those of you who possess and have retained mental function, thanks for the suggestions I have received over the last year.
Keep it brutal.
The day is mine!

Immortal to me peaked at Pure Holocaust. The album before was good, but not as good as Pure Holocaust. I'd rank them as follows:
1) Pure Holocaust
2) Battles In The North
3) Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism
4) Blizzard Beasts
5) At The Heart Of Winter
6) Sons of Northern Darkness
7) ****ed in Black
Not to say ****ed in Black sucks at all.

Yo Stevie and any other people that listen to black metal, have you heard the contenders so far in the black metal song composition? What do you think of them so far?
Some of the songs especially MetalJonus don't even sound like black metal...

yeah his entry has nothing to do with black metal. I think the tr00est is Berner. When Ramsey said "black metal" I expected to hear tremolo picked riffs ala a blaze in the northern sky but the competitors got it way further especially in terms of technicality.
However the question is has black metal to be tr00, nekro, kvlt like Darkthrone for instance? Dont take me wrong but I think this is just a particular kind of black. We have melodic, atmospheric, symphonic, avant grade, progressive, viking...although none of the entries fits these categories...They just invented technical black metal or wrote a technical/melodic death song and put the label black in front of it!
MetalJonus sounds sort of Melodic Death to my ear.

I'm listening to them now. So far, none of b3rn3r's is the most black metal, but none are ultra true, if you know what I mean?

I think it should be able to be any kind of black metal, but at least it could have the properties of black metal in them.
As in ranging from 1349/Darkthrone styles to Satyricon(nemesis divina days and back) to Enslaved to Emperor styles etc etc when it comes to that topic. But so far
none of these songs really have any black metal influence (minus Berner's song) or any of these sounds in their songs.
I mean c'mon, where are the scratchy vocals, blast beats, some what bad production, atmosphere and tremelo picked melodies and such?

metaljonus's is a good effort, but certainly not BM. So far, berner's got my vote....

TheChosenOnes is probably going to be putting up his song, and I have already heard it and it's pretty good as well.
If I have time still, I am thinking about recording something since I already have a good riff down...but I need to learn how to record stuff and such, which is what my main concern is.

Black metal song compositition?
Where?
I WOULD put some of my demo up, but it is just too cult.
Well, it is on cassette and I have no means of getting it onto computer because my soundcard is homosexual.

GAH! I have $37.50 to spend on Amazon and no idea what to get. I don;t own many CDs so basically recommend the best of the best. I really like Avant Garde metal and more progressive types of black and symphonic metal.

Mine has trem picking and a few blast beats. It's a lot closer to melodic BM than what you described though. And the vocals are closer to DM.

So I'm thinking an Ephel Duath album definitely.
Then maybe Peccatum, Emperor - Prometheus, Enslaved (Isa or Below the Lights), Diabolical Masquerade (probably Nightwork), The Elysian Fields - We... the Enlightened or Solefald - In Harmonia Universali. But Maudlin of the Well's Bath is also amazing. DAMMIT!

Basically I wrote one of my normal metal songs. Parts of them fit black metal so I figured it was fine. Plus I really like doing DM vocals.

Solefald - In Harmonium Universali
Peccatum - Lost in Reverie
Opera IX - Black Opera Symphoniae Mysteriorum in Lauden Tenebrarum
Ephel Duath - The Painter's Pallette
All that for about $40.
I wanted Ephel Duath more than Embraced.
