honestly... i dont really like Cryptopsy really at all. I dont know, theres just something about their music that gives off this feeling that its just unconnected pieces of music that dont flow as songs at all. Theyre totally cool and everything and i have the utmost respect for them, but i just cant dig the stuff.

In a bit, I'll do some other songs and post them here.
I was thinking along the lines of:
Necrophagist - Foul Body Autopsy
Blood Freak - Kill! Kill! Kill!
And others that just might sound funny. I'll take requests if I have the song, or it's an easy download.
I'm eating lunch now, so I'll probably do these in an hour or so.

I love The Chasm. Second best melodic death metal band in the world, after Arghoslent. I also enjoy Daniel and Julio's old band, Cenotaph. Not nearly as technical as The Chasm, but good death metal, with great solos.

Yes, definately do check out destroyer 666. Terror Abraxas is their newest, and a fine album indeed, but Phoenix Rising is my all time favorite. Great thrashy black metal with good production of good riffs that make me bang my head. :thumb: Highly reccomended.

I only just found out he is also in Genitorturers. I really didn't believe it at first, but then I went through Blabbermouth and.... there he was :upset:
Still, if he comes back and is as imposing as he used to be, then that's King. I think his vocals on Domination are the quintessential death metal vocals. Now we just need Rutan to return and it'll all be peachy in the Angel's camp once more!

Vincent's vocals on Domination are very good i would say, even though i dont like that album, BUT... i do disagree highly in that his throat on COVENANT is the essence of all things unholy in death metal.
come on man.... LIES! AND THEY FILL YOUR SOUL
yeah nothing touches that haha.
I woul dhave to say though that THE morbid angel lineup to end all morbid angel lineups would be Trey, Pete, Steve, and Erik. Thats when its done. That was the lineup Formulas onward up untill the Heretic tours, except for Jared filling in sometimes. But that was still awesome too because Jared is badass, and its like melting the best of Florida death metal together into one super Cthulhu lol

...and the reuniting of Dissection?
Jon had 8 good years to write stuff so it must be good. Another positive thing is that he's also said that he wouldnt listen to mallcore stuff even if he was ten years old.
*Also it was pretty smart of the label and him of course to keep metallers awaiting and paying attention to an inactive group through some hot tips: giving the group a legendary status although they have only released two (incredible I admit) albums, re-releases, live album, "Fear the Return" T-shirts, Faust who was kicked out due to Jons "satanic principles", new "secret" line up, tour on the way...They seem to be preparing something big...*
Btw, Jon murdered a man...why only 8 (or nine?) years in prison? In other cases people stay in forever...
Jon had better grow back his hair :p

Faust actually left the band, he wasn't kicked out, he couldn't handle Jon's satanic principles.
By the way, Dissection was never 'broken up' Jon always had the intention to keep the band together.

Welcome back Legions. I think there were a few reasons for merging the threads. coypu, Gertrude McCrack, Shockwave, mutilator and others were all good members who don't post any more, and someone coming into 2.0 wouldn't go back to the original to look at their posts, which was a shame. Can anyone recommend really heavy metal bands? You know the kind I'm talking about; along the lines of Manowar, Goat Horn, Witchsmeller Pursuivant, and all those bands whose names begin with "war".
I've got to admit, I'm looking towards Jondur/Lefty here, though I'd like to see who else loves this kind of thing.

I just asked the nearest Musical In if they could get me a copy, and they did..
All the record stores around where I live are staffed by clueless teenagers who listen to rap/pop music. When I ask them about Possessed they just go " Who?" and refer me to a different store. I'm sure I'll find it somewhere though.

The new album, "Demigod" is scheduled for release this fall in Europe and early next year in the USA. I'm not too sure about Nergal's vox on these tracks, but I really like the music. It sounds like Behemoth will be putting out another excellent album.

This gives some solace to Death Metal heads. How many of u have experienced the power of Death Metal. I have known my colleagues shake up when i show them my Death Metal albums. U can see it in ppl's eyes. The yare scared of u. Most of them hate u. But, who cares, rt? Its my own thing. We dont give a **** about what others feel.
I have been unable to get Carcass tracks. Can anybody describe their kind of music as compared to other Death bands? My flavour of death includes:
Six Feet Under
Napalm Death
Cannibal Corpse
Deicide ( I wasnt able to listen to one complete album continuously. This is undoubtedly the heaviest band. )
Obituary
Brujeria
And if u listen to Testament's Demonic and The Gathering, I would say that they are stepping closer to death from Thrash.

ok, i'm not advertising really, but a band that a friend of mine is in, really will be heard within the next year or two, i can gurantee it.
they are called Serious Nature, and are a thrash metal band.
my friend said they are recording a demo now, that can be sent off around the place to get them more noticed.
they have written 8 songs, 3 that are completely complete with vocals.
now, i'm not the biggest fan of thrash metal or whatever you want to call it, but they are ****ing intense. i really love the stuff they do, and joe (my friend) is a ****ing excellent guitarist.
they are very young aswell, the drummer being 15, bassist 17 and joe is also 17, but the singer is 20 something, don't know him too well.
if anyone wants to hear any of their stuff, check this (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/incubliss/Serious%20Nature/blisterclip.mp3) out, it's a small clip they added to keep some people updated on their sound, while they record their demo. you can't hear alot from that song, but believe me when i say the other stuff they have is very good.

Meshuggah is alright. I really don't listen to them anymore. Personally, I find them boring now, though they have some good songs. I find them very monotonous, but they do have complex rhythms/polyrhythms. Tomas Haake is an amazing drummer. They're techincal (post)-thrash. Teh real downside of Meshuggah is teh vocals, meh. Once you've heard one Meshuggah song, you basically heard 98% of Meshuggah.

A while ago me and a friend recorded an old In Flames song, Artifacts Of The Black Rain, using only a borrowed squire fat-strat and a drum machine + vocal mike. Question : I have the reissued version of 'Altars of madness' and it has a few remixes, they're not so different from the original versions aside from slightly altered solos. But there's also an extra song called 'Lord Of All Fevers And Plague'. And it has some strange words, and I was wondering what language it was.
Ninnghizhidda - open my eyes
Ninnghizhidda - hear my cries
Plumed serpent of the deep
Plumed serpent of the gate
I command - come before me
I command - bring the key
Rise from the depths
See the fire in my wand
Ia iak sakkakh iak sakkakth
Ia shaxul
I call forth the god pazuzu
I call forth the lord of plague
I am of the lost
Creatures of spawn of hate
Rejoice in the heaving earth
Praise the ripping sky
Rise spread disease
Consume their puny souls
Ia iak sakkakh iak sakkakth
Ia shaxul
Ia kingu ia cthulu ia azbul
Ia azabua
Ride the wings of death...

A full-length MP3 of the new VADER track "Dark Transmission" has been posted online in MP3 format at this location.http://www.empire-records.com.pl/mp3/dark%20transmission-vader.mp3
"Dark Transmission" is said to be "the slowest part" of the upcoming VADER album, "The Beast" due on September 20 through Metal Blade Records. The album's first single — including the track "Beware The Beast" and another new song, a report from the studio and a video — will be released on August 31 with the 4/2004 issue of Thrash 'em All magazine. A limited–edition version of the album will contain a bonus DVD including a report from the studio, a video clip recorded during the session, and "a fragment of one of the most important gigs in 2003," according to a posting on the band's web site.
"The Beast" was recorded at Radio Gdansk Studio with producer Piotr Lukaszewski ("Reign Forever World", "Revelations", "Blood") and was mixed while the band were away on the first part of their European tour. Jacek Wisniewski was responsible for the album artwork and other graphics. The mastering session took place on July 1.

Metal archives states them as an Italian band. Yet they have a German website. Also most of the members have german looking names. It's pretty much stated everywhere that they started in Italy, so I'll accept that, but what happened then? Did they move to Germany or what?
Great band, anyway.

Yeah, I thought of that, but their 'Thanks to' has german in it, plus yeah, the band members. Only one of the names sounds italian.

Any fans of Sceptic in here? I'm currently enjoying Pathetic Being.
Finally a sceptic fan! I've been checking this group for a while now and I'm going to order pathetic being this week :thumb: . As for unbelievers script I've read two reviews. The first was good (8/10), the other said that there were some obvious swedish influences and was nothing special...Nah, I dont know...

Maybe they were born in Italy to German parents, or something stupid like that. Or maybe they all just met up in Italy by chance.

You only gave havenless a 3.5 out of 5?! that song is amazing! The chant in it is overly addicting. I actually would not reccomend it to fans of opeth personally.

NJMetalMeister

Enslaved likes to make complexity through simplicity. Like the song "As Fire Swept Clean the Earth" is basically like variations of two riffs. Conversely, opeth will use about 4239843298423 riffs and little bridges per song. Enslaved stays away from harmony a lot, whereas opeth thrives on it. Opeth will take a jazzier approach drumming wise, enslaved takes a much more basic approach. To me they are two totally different things, and i dont see the large majority of opeth fans liking below the lights at all.

On initial listens, the Sinners Bleed album will probably blow you away...and you'll listen to it over, and over again... but over time, you'll probably grow bored of it... but still like it.
It's amazing how many people on here like Sinners Bleed now... I remember trying to get everyone to listen to the few songs they have on the site like... forever ago. In the first death heads thread I think.

I was the one who said it was too stale, but I don't have a problem with it now. Here's another new Bloodbath mp3: http://home.cogeco.ca/~ablanchard3/03%20Soul%20Evisceration.mp3
And then two new Quo Vadis songs, I haven't had a chance to check them out yet though:

www.quovadis.qc.ca/promo/Silence_Calls_the_Storm-Unmastered.mp3
I had my first taste of Pestilence's Spheres album today. All I can say is "kickin rad". And is it just me, or can anyone else not stop listening to Shedding The Deadwood by Woods of Ypres? There's just something about that song, for me at least.

You guys are useful - everyone said to get a different album :p I guess I'll use the old random selection or somehting. I'll get all three, eventually.
Oh yeah the otherday I was stuck waiting in the mall so I went in HMV (you guys said it had OK selection) and all it had was Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Preist (one live album from each) and the War at the Warfield DVD. I guess my HMV just sucks arse.
Bartender
08-26-2004, 07:00 AM
Yeah, looks like it. The HMV near me has a couple of hundred metal CDs, and though it's not the best selection, it's not bad.
Both of those Quo Vadis songs are really good. Silence Calls the Storm in particular is great.
