I just listen to Elvenefris AGAIN, and I find it completely original and enthralling EVERYTIME!!!!! It's gotta be one of the best death metal albums ever. uhhhh...no. Red Stream (http://www.redstream.org/Lykathea-Aflame-Elvenefris_3059.php) has it. As well as Cursed Productions (http://www.cursedproductions.com/catalog/display_product.phtml?prodid=765). And there's the eBay auctions I posted in the same post as the mp3.

Red Stream is a couple bucks cheaper, but I don't know about the shipping. I got mine from Cursed Productions and it was in my mail box 3 days later.

Garbage Disposal is brutal deathgrind. Some really great bass work. A few industrial flairs. In general the music is pretty chugging, but not really monotonous. Think Lord Worm era cryptopsy meets Cinerary.

Nasum are cool.

As far as arch enemy go - I enjoyed Black Earth and I thought Stigmata was cool enough - it has a really dark feel to it - and even burning bridges had it's moment (like the title track) but Wages of Sin was terrible. I hate her voice - Johann Lliva (don't care how it's spelt) was not the best vocalist in the world but at least he was in Furbowl! I guess Mike didn't want to shag him.

Last night I saw Arch Enemy and Hate Eternal. Best show I've seen in a while, hands down. Amazing performances by every band. A band called the Black Dahlia Murder opened up. I had never heard them before the show, but I will be picking something up by them. They played great. Hate Eternal kicked my ***. I was standing about 10 feet away from Derek Roddy so I just watched him pretty much the whole time. The guy is amazing. Then Arch Enemy came out and played awesome. The were on the whole night. I got to talk to Derek and Erik after the show so that made the night. And I get to see both bands again within the next 2 months.

On a similar note, my band ( www.ionicaonline.com ) is going to record our second demo, starting on the 18th. If I remember correctly, it's going to be called 'The Effigy' and about 4 songs. The reason for the lack of tracks is that we're only recording for 2 days, and mastering on the third. Plus we're getting a good deal on it (3 days for the price of 2, with extra CDs thrown in :thumb: ), so yey :). It isn't strictly extreme metal, but one of our songs is REALLY influenced by Bodom. So if you don't like any others, you should like that :D

NP: Seer's Tear 'Musical Differences: The demos of Seer's Tear'

Time for a quick Eulogy about the best band that noone here has heard of! Seer's Tear started off as a straight doom band but got heavily into prog leading to the completely new genre of prog/doom on their first demo 'A Chronicle of a Destiny' in 1994. They continued along this line for the 'A Gathering of Separate Ways' demo in 95. Then in 1997 they let the prog loose and released an album of epic splendour! "Precious" was released on Goldblade records and is full on prog. It is far more Crimson than Candlemass but retains the melancholy edge.

Now of course things didn't run smoothly and the vocalist has now got some problems with his vocal chords. This is a real shame as he's a great singer. But to the point... seeing as the albums out of print I am willing (as a service to a great band) to do some copies for people so if you like prog metal then send me an email jonathon_gibbs@hotmail.com

Autopsy are fantastic! Chris Reifert is one of my favourite metal drummers for a start, and Autopsy are just so sick. Chris is in The Ravenous now, with Killjoy, but I haven't heard of their stuff. This is bad. I want to.
