Pretty good, this. Perhaps a little bit disappointing given how good "Dream Song" is, but still. Singer-songwriter type stuff with something on a frequent emphasis on Eastern-like sounds (healthy dose of tabla, for example), optimistically I think it'd appeal to Jeff Buckley/Nick Drake enthusiasts. And if not, you should all at least hear "Dream Song".

Sigur Ros - ()
It's a type of music that makes you want to completely give up because you know in your heart you will never produce anything as heart-wrenchingly beautiful as this.
I Was A Kaleidoscope

Sigur Ros is good but I only listen to them occasionally now.
I See A Darkness is not good!
That's one of the so called great records that I couldn't get into. And I like almost anything.
...what about it am I missing?
I listened to it a few times but it seemed boring.
And I listen to a lot of music some people would consider a lot more boring than that.
So...I dunno.

Arthur Russell - First Thought Best Thought
Hadn't heard this one before, more of a display of his classical background, almost no suggestion of his dance stuff. It's kinda neat, though. All instrumentals. Some of the stuff on the first disc is kind of like Velvet Underground for a nine-piece band, others have a more pop-jazz kinda thing going on. And then there's some ambient, a cello suite and a 9-minute track of weird electronic noodling. Fun fun.
