Lord Willin' had a lot of good songs, but a few i can't stand which really take away from it overall. i'm pissed that Baby is a guest, even if he is on a remix of Grindin' way at the end. HHNF doesn't have as low of low points and has better beats I'd say.

i saw them in January. they put on a fun show but it was kind of disappointing. they didn't play any old stuff. it was all their new electro-pop dance stuff. the show eventually became a big scene kid dance-party.

Songs to Remember is funny. Kinda corny, but at the same time, enjoyable for a soul fan like me. It's almost as if Stevie Wonder was reincarnated as an English post-punker, except not quite as good as that might sound. The Arthur Russell is a comp I already had downloaded, but it's a sweet one so I bought it on the cheap. Soul Jazz is the best. Classically trained cellist makes NY Dance tunes. Yeah. I was gonna go back one last time, but I realized I've probably spent $60 on CDs in the last week. And I felt weird going back. But I got a nice haul all in all:
Lizzy Mercier Descloux - Zulu Rock, Best Off
The Associates - Affectionate Punch, Fourth Drawer Down, Sulk
Arthur Russell - World of Arthur Russell, First Thought Best Thought
Mission of Burma - The Obliterati
James Mason - Rhythm of Life
Dabrye - One/Two
Tweaker - Attraction to All Things Uncertain
VA - Nao Wave
Scritti Politti - Songs to Remember
Soft Cell - Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret
Ann Peebles - The Complete Ann Peebles on Hi Records, Vol. 2
The Ohsees - Whatever the **** their shitty album is called
The Envelopes - Demon
Vitalic - Ok Cowboy
Mclusky - Mcluskyism
VA - The DFA Remixes Ch. 1
Denim - Back in Denim
The Free Design - One By One
A Certain Ratio - Early
By the end when stuff was cheapest, they didn't have much in the way of Jazz or Hip Hop. So that kinda sucked. But overall I'm pretty pleased with myself. That's an average of about $3 a CD, I think. I skipped out on buying a lot of superfluous indie stuff that I already have downloaded. I kinda wish I bought a couple other things, especially this Comstat Angels BBC sessions thing that's supposed to be pretty good. Oh well.
