It's the only one I know, but I like it. I can never really get enough of "Hello Operator". [/unsolicited]

Anyway. I've listened to a few of the albums (or odd tracks from them) I've picked up whilst elsewhere, but overall listening to new albums away from home was so uncomfortable I just stuck with things I already knew. So I've recently liked;

Seer's Tear - Precious
Remarkably good, if hard to find, prog metal, and I'm not much of a prog metal fan. It's got technical bits and a high pitched vocalist, but also memorable songs and some great melodies. I'm still getting to grips with it really, but I like it.

Nick Lowe - Jesus of Cool
Picked it up cheap on vinyl, pretty much just because of the connection with Costello, and luckily enough I really like it. Even if he does thieve the occasional Beatles melody.

Boris - Pink
Got this just before I left, so was getting used to this too. It's good - a good mix of all the stuff I like about Boris - but I probably don't like it as much as the other stuff I have.

And some more established stuff;
The Beatles - Help!
The Beatles - Revolver
Yusef Lateef - The Blue Yusef Lateef
Solomon Burke - Don't Give Up On Me

I forget what else. I saw someone digging the Wildhearts in here though, so good.

This cool Minutemen bootleg I found in a torrent site. It's the latest performance of them I've ever heard (10-24-85). Its in .flac which I have regarded as a useless format. It takes up waaaay more space than an MP3, and theres almost no noticible difference.

Yeah, it really is. I think it's extremely underrated. It's my second favourite QOTSA album.

Nas – Illmatic
Elliott Smith – Either/Or
DJ Shadow – Entroducing…

I don't understand all the hype behind Illmatic, maybe I need to listen to it a few more times.

The hype for Illmatic is 100% correct.

I dig the rhymes and all, but that album didn't strike me as anything particularly brilliant.

Maudlin of the Well - My Fruit Psychobells.. A Seed Combustible

I've had this for quite a while now, but am just listening to it properly for the first time. Always ambitious, it is by turns brilliant and exciting, and a boring mess (frequently in the same song), but I like it.

Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death

Simply, another great album from a great band.

Also been listening to my two newly acquired Queens of the Stone Age albums, and going back to listen to Rated R in light of the new ones. All relatively solid and enjoyable, in different amounts, though not amongst my favourites, I think. I forget what else.
