I'm listening to Band Of Horses, I like it a lot.
I'm going to revisit the old Common Sense records, because the new one tainted my perception of the old ones.
Do you have Electric Circus?
I'm still digging Blind Willie McTell.
No, I don't, and I'm going to get it right now. I have Resurrection and One Day..., and I used to have Like Water For Chocolate but it seems to have disappeared.

Mf Doom - Vaudville Villian Its pretty good, but overrated. The beats are varied and definately not standard rap dance beats. Though the songs drag on sometimes and MF's voice isn't exactly exciting....

You can't spell it with 3 m's, because then it ceases to be an anagram of his name.
Tom Delounges new band Angels and Airwaves is amazing. The song "The Adventure" is incredible.

I was reviewing Rites of Spring's End on End and had never heard the band before, so I made sure to listen to that one attentively. Listening to Panic! At the Disco to see what all the fuss was, not too impressed. And Andrew Bird's album The Mysterious Production of Eggs is fantastic. Jesu - Silver EP
Cult of Luna - Somewhere Along the Highway
The Jesu is kinda disappointing, I really only dug one song on it. I'm only partway through the 'Luna, but I'm diggin' it pretty good.
Since it's a promo, I gotta put up with some dude saying "you're listening to Somewhere Along the Highway, etc etc" every once in a while. But I had no idea Cult of Luna was even gonna have a new album soon, so I guess I can't complain.

Drive Like Jehu - not enough product to judge, and some of their stuff is too quiet/complicated to legit rock out to
That's the way I feel about them too, although the couple of really great songs they have tend to make up for it. Also, Nirvana's best work wasn't in the 90s anyway.

Anyway, I really like Mr Lif right now, as well as The Wedding Present, with a little Bad Brains thrown on top.
And of course MF Doom, hence the avatar.
I was shocked when I heard Norah Jones say things like 'keep it in your pants' and 'mother****er' on it. The collaboration with Massive Attack is a standout.
yeah, weirded me out too. it works, though.

My first listen to this band and I love it. This is pretty much the first time I've heard modern country music done right. The only downside is that if I get stuck listeneing to Toby Keith at my cousin's house again (they love him), it will be 100x worse.
edit: I think I might have to get a harmonica because of the totally sweet harmonica lines in Moonshiner.

Thanks for the reccomendation. There was this crazy sale at JB today and also a bunch of metal cds at Cash Converters, so I spent about 50 bucks and got 10 cds and two dvds (Opeth and Almost Famous). I even bought a second copy of Purple Rain to give to someone.

Just downloaded the Gnarls Barkley album so I will most likely be digging that tomorrow (seeing as I'm going to bed now)
Was annoyed to see NME calling that something like the best soul album of the decade. Not that it isn't (I've not heard it); just annoyed that they'd suddenly decided to know something about soul.
Anyway, I've not been listening to much lately. Mostly songs rather than albums, exceptions being a re-dig of Young Heart Attack's Mouthful of Love (still one of my favourite newer rock albums) and Mclusky Do Dallas, which is sounding pretty good on first listen.

Someone gave my a copy of the TV on the Radio leak. I'll be listening to that later. And Lupe Fiasco. Big buzz mainstream hip hop backpacker type if you're not in the know. Not a fan of his voice but he's got a good flow, nice beats to work with. He'll probably be the next "savior of mainstream rap" titleholder and victim of general overhype. Then again, that's not much of a prediction since it's pretty much already the case.

Recently, I've started to get into some of Seattle's and the NW's local groups. Specifically, Crystal Skulls (from seattle, can find them at www.crystalskullsonline.com (http://www.crystalskullsonline.com)) and The Helio Sequence (from portland, www.theheliosequence.com (http://www.theheliosequence.com)). They are also both on myspace if you want to find them there.
I was lucky enough to catch both of these bands in concert in Seattle, but just by chance. I had heard that the Silversun Pickups (a band out of L.A.) were coming to town, and, having just started listening to them, I was definately set on going. I honestly was blown away when the Crystal Skulls and The Helio Sequence took the stage later. Absolutely amazing.
These are two amazing bands. You should all definately check them out.

Got the new Tool album. The packaging is interesting (stereoscopic!) and at least it justifies buying instead of downloading. The songs are pretty good as well. As a bassist, I'm seriously impressed with Justin's work on nearly every track of this album. Guitar-wise, I'm still disappointed that all of Adam's "solos" are identical to the one in "Reflection" from the last album.

The Rapture - Echoes
It's been awhile since I've listened to this and it's still terrific. It's a great, great record. Many facets of emotion but maintaining the freedom and fun of rock music.
Idaho - Three Sheets to the Wind
Joy Division - Heart and Soul
Rose Melberg - Cast Away the Clouds

I know for a fact I listened to more Black Dice than that. Interesting list though, I guess. I failed to buy the Tool album today so no diggage for me. I'll have it by the end of the week. Don't you hate it when you go into a music store to buy something in specific and then find out they have the something-in-specific that you wanted to buy last time you were there, effectively derailing your sense of purpose? I think that only happens to me. I'm simple minded.

Can't be bothered posting my list up. I mainly listened to my cds this week. Today I'm digging some Built to Spill. "Untrustable Part 2" is wicked.

I'm really, really, really looking forward to the new Bronx album. I'm thinking the words "best" and "rock" will be used once I've heard it.

My last FM is really incorrect, has missed out half my week and consists mostly of my sister's music because we share a PC so I won't bother posting it.
My journey to work was one of guilty pleasures:
Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway
Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
I'm really, really, really looking forward to the new Bronx album. I'm thinking the words "best" and "rock" will be used once I've heard it.
I want it NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
When is it due out? Their debut was tight as **** so I can't wait for the new one

Murs again plus Dudley Perkins' Expressions, which is a very soul/funk influenced album. I'll be getting some of that Gnarls very soon.
