Having listened to Clouds before this, I think this album feels kind of unimpressive. Still, they wouldn't be the Flaming Lips if they sounded the same on every album, so it's not THAT disappointing.

So uh diggage today.
I just listened to
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Good album, probably my favorite Floyd album. Probably their most progressive album.
The Beatles - Sgt. Peppers
Damn good album, Abbey Road is still my favorite though.
And now I'm listening to Yes - Fragile. It's pretty good, I'm starting to like it more. I just wish their was more lyrics instead of just instrumentals.

Coheed and Cambria - The Second Stage Turbine Blade
Wow, this album is so good.
It doesn't have as much variety as their subsequent albums, but at the same time it's hard to listen to it and not say it's the band's best. I like "Time Consumer," "Everything Evil," and "God Send Conspirator" the best.
Right now I am listening to Boy Hits Car by Boy Hits Car. It's a pretty neat album; lots of Indian influence in an otherwise normal-sounding post-hardcore/something else album.

Same. I can't seem to get into The Times They Are A-Changin' anywhere near as much as all the other Dylan albums I have.

Boy Hits Car! I've got that album, and I've got one of their early local ones too! It's called My Animal, and though some of the songs appeared later on the s/t, the versions are much different, and the other material definitely makes it worth having. If you'd like it, holla at a playa.

whoa this is surprising. I always thought they were a nu-metal band or something.Similar volume level. That's about all they had in common with the nü metal people, although sometimes their lyrics are a tad too angsty, but they're way, way more interesting than the bands they shared radio playlists with for the five minutes they got airplay.

The first time I heard Boy Hits Car, I thought their sound was really unique. That's because they were probably the first post-hardcore band of that style I'd ever heard. Then a band called Boysetsfire came out and they sort of dominated the "Boy-" band scene instead. Argh!
anyway, I've been listening to Bear Vs. Shark's Right Now You're In The Best Of Hands... a whole lot. It's really neat, like ATDI if they weren't so frantic all the time.

Murs' Murray's Revenge was my main diggage for the past week. It's ok, not near as solid as 3:16 was. But I love Murs. He's probably among my top 5 currently active in-their-prime MCs. He's so perfectly... West Coast.
Today, I also listened to Eric Dolphy's Out to Lunch. I need more Dolphy, I think that's the only solution to that. Also dug an album by a band called Gutbucket. They play jazz-inspired heavy music, I suppose. They've got some really nice numbers.

Today I've been re-digging the Smiths, after not listening to them for a long time. I had the radio on, they did an overview of their discography, with a couple songs off each album... made me remember how damn solid they were. So yeah. Christina for me. Last.fm you know me too well.
Earlier I got the Housemartins greatest hits and the liner notes are hilarious.
One of the band's last musical ventures and possibly their worst. Lyrically vague and musically unimaginative ... Although originally written in 1983, it wasn't until October '87 that the band got desperate enough to record it.
It reached No. 126 in the pop charts and shook the industry by its foundations. In New Zealand it reached the prestigious '60' mark.

Ok ok i'm re-listening to Answering Machine in an attempt to discover it's greatness. It's a pretty good song i guess, it gets annoying at the end for me. The lyrics are my favorite thing about the song. Judging from one listen, even if the rest of the songs are only half as good as those five, it will be the best album of the year yet to come out when it's released. The video for that song led me to believe they were a relatively new band. They look fairly young. They don't look old enough to have been making music in the 80s anyway. They look more like they were born in the 80s.

Most are probably (relative) young'uns. The band doesn't really have much of a consistent lineup. And yeah, "All the Young Children On Crack" is horrible. But some of the stuff I've heard from the rest of their album is more in tune to what they do, clumsy indie pop stuff.
I haven't read the Pitchfork review on Fishscale but if it's positive, then they've got it right. It's much better than Pretty Tony, which really wasn't even all that good in the first place except for like three songs. I'm loving the guest spots for dead people on this album, too.

hah. this band played near me and i would've got to seen them but their name is too ****ing funny.
My friend thinks they're emo because of the name. Plus, their album cover has an uncanny resemblance to the heartagram.

I'm heavily digging Metaphorical Music by Nujabes. Found out about it through the recommendations thing on RateYourMusic, and I know pretty much nothing about the guy... but I assume he's a producer, and he does some really great laid back jazzy hip hop.
