Stevie Wonder - Innervisions. I forgot how funky this album is.
I've been looking for that album for a long while.
Dig:
Pixies - Doolittle
At the moment I don't really see this as being much more than a 4/5 album. It's good and I enjoy it, but it's not perfect.
Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food
After a few more listens, the first and last tracks are awesome and definite standouts, but the rest of the album is pretty great as well. 4/5.

Last night. Performance by the Trinity Jazz Orchestra, but these guys were special guests.
One of them has played on hundreds of recordings as a session musician for people like Sinatra and even toured with Steely Dan in the 70s.
The other guy was supposedly the best trombone player in Japan.
Now I know trombones aren't meant for playing fast staccato notes very well, but these guys were tearing the place up.

That blows. They're really something live.
When I saw them I was like "Whoa! I need to capture this awesomeness!". I tried to take video with my camera, but was owned by the fact my phone sucks hardcore, all you can see is blurry blobs moving around with loud static playing.

Seriously, I just listened to the first two last night, and my mind was blown. I was unaware that a band of that nature could create something so simply beautiful. I'm listening to the GY!BE album right now, and it's phenomenal. This is actually my first time through, but I figured that my initial reaction to it so far counted.

When my RM was in and was doing his homework, I was listening through headphones. Otherwise, I haven't, though I probably ought to (there's a lot of stuff that's easy to miss). Absolutely fantastic stuff. The GY!BE is quite frightening at points, but not the kind of frightening like a horror film, just kind of a sustained, underlying disturbing atmosphere. Incredible music.
