I have listened to Switchfoot an awful lot and I really like "Twenty Four", "Let That Be Enough" and "The Beautiful Letdown" and of course "Meant To Live" but since i've fallen asleep to them every night for the past 2 weeks, I'd really like my Orange Co. soundtrack back and my Alt. Nation burned CD back....both of which my dad totally stole from me. My Alt. Nation CD is AWESOME cause it has wicked a** songs on it. I just named it that after my Sirius station cause I couldnt think of any other names...:(

Just curious.. What the heck happened to the Tapeworm(project)??? Haven't heard of them since "Vacant"(and that one was live,right?)..Speaking of live..I thought A Perfect Circle's cover of The Cure's "Love Song"(entitled "Diary Of A Madman", I'm sure most of you know about it) was great, it's a shame they didn't record it..I only had the live version:(

I've fallen in love with Muse the past month, really enjoying their latest album Absolution. Also Keane, Snow Patrol, Razorlight are tickling my fancy. And a band called The Scruffs from Glasgow, they're unsigned but really popular. Their songs are some of the best I've heard from a new band.

The Tapeworm project "disbanded". They were never really a proper band, but the songs that they had worked on were deleted by Trent, as he saw not much promise in them. He says that he and Maynard will work together again one day. The song "Vacant" was performed by APC.
My title of that song is "Diary of a Lovesong", as the verses are from Ozzy's "Diary of a Madman" and the chorus from "Lovesong". Cool stuff though, they wouldn't record covers. They tend to be incredibly serious in the studio, and very lighthearted on the stage.

I've been listening to Interpol a lot recently, in eager anticipation of their new album (anyone heard their new song 'slow hands' - brilliant).
Also been listening to The White Stripes in readiness for the Leeds festival.
Others that have been on rotation include:
The Grey Album - DJ Dangermouse
The Futureheads - The Futureheads
Com Lag 2+2=5 - Radiohead
Some Frank Sinatra compilations
05/03 - 22-20s
The Lost Riots - Hope of The States
BRMC - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (an album you can always go back to :p )
And of course all the Beastie Boys albums i own :D

Thanks for clearing things up. I used to burn cd's from my classmate the past few years, and sometimes get mixed up with song titles and stuff and I just recently began using the internet*regularly* a few months ago(the cons of being poor..), it's a hard life.:p I wish APC could do an album full of covers, that'd be awesome(but as you said, they probably won't).
Anyone here from Ontario? I've been wanting to buy Denali-The Instinct for some time now, I can't find it anywhere.

Motorpsycho might just be a band you'd like, Nach...they are from Norway. Very experimental at times, definately influenced by Floyd, but also by Sonic Youth and The Cure. It's a really schizophrenic band...they can be really mellow...but also really fncked up and chaotic too. Their best album is called "Timothy's Monster".

I baught the Jeff Buckley - Grace (Legacy Edition) album today. It set me back about $40 but it's worth it. I still haven't gotten around to watching the DVD yet though, I hope it's good.
$40?! Holy crap..I wonder if I'll ever be able to buy that soon.:upset: School starts in 5 days!!! But that's +$5 in my allowance. I'm still wondering what to buy next though.. Transatlanticism?? It's got a lot of elements of progressive rock. The instrumentation is just bass, drums, b3 organ, and voice, so that should give you an idea of what the overall timbre of the recording is. The bass occasionally sounds like a guitar. The songs are basically all great, with memorable melodies and interesting instrumental parts parts surrounding them.

Yeah, Jack Johnson was alright. I only like "Flake" "Cupid" and "Bubbletoes", the rest of the songs are extremely boring. I had never heard of the 2 opening bands; G-Love and Donovon Frankenreader (I think?). I dunno, I don't even care what their names were, they both sucked.
Basically it was the only concert I've ever been too where I was so bored I wanted to go home, but, I went for my girlfriend... And she had a good time, so it's all good. :thumb:

I like Flake and Horizon has been defeated, but I don't like Bubbletoes.
Everyone should check out They Might Be Giants. Everything off of "Mink Car" is great. Esp. Cyclops Rock, I've Got a Fang, and She Thinks She's Edith Head.
I also really dig that new band Skindred. (I think it's pronounces like "kindred" with an S at the beginning). That song "Nobody" is quite good.

I've been getting heavily back into Ryan Adams' "Love is Hell". It's really bloody awesome stuff. I think I'm actually nearly liking it more than "Gold"... but maybe not.

Ok so heres a semi-new idea for a thread. Basically, you just post what ever song, album or artist you have really been liking at the moment. If it's a new band you could put a little bit about them, good songs etc...
So if this works well enough, we could maybe get it sticky'd ( Nacho? ).
Well, a cool new(ish) band I've been listening to alot lately is These Arms Are Snakes . They are a post-hardcore,art punky band who have one EP out called This is Mean to Hurt You.
Good songs to check out would be:
The Blue Rose
Drinking From the Necks of Loved Ones
Run it Through the Dog
Riding the Grape Dragon
---------------------------------------
I have been listening to Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps alot lately and have come to the conclusion that it is my favourite Neil Young album. Definately check it out!
---------------------------------------
Television - Friction is one incredible song. Ahead of it's time.
If you guys think this is a shitty idea for a thread just say so. If not, update with new stuff whenever you feel the need.
TELEVISION'S AWESOME! But no, haven't been listening to them! *LOL*
I've rediscovered a great band called Toad the Wet Sprocket. Listening to the album Fear. Also, Carlos Santana and Mahavishnu John McLaughlin's Love, Devotion, Surrender. Great stuff there, too.
