Hah, good. But in no way are they better. NA was under rated, Black Flag is over rated. Ginn himself never liked Rollins. Besides Rollins taunted and was an asshole to Calvin Johnson of Beat Happening, possibly the coolest guy ever because he wasn't macho enough.
Ginn is cool, but as a whole, Black Flag's music I don't think was ever that great.

Ian Curtis Is Dead

I've been heavily into Billy Bragg for about 3 months now.
For those who don't know, he's "anti-folk". Besides Ani Difranco (sp), he's the only artist I know from this genre, so I can't explain it well. As far as I'm aware, it's basically folk with punk influences.
He isn't much of a singer, but like many folk artists like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, his lyrics more than make up for it. Lyrically, he has two major styles: about politics, and about love. The latter are easy to relate to, the former are heavily entrenched in 80s Britain, so while they are dated, it's a great marker of the past.
I highly, highly recommend him to all of you.

I've had this album probably for a couple of years now (if not more), it's just in the ol' CD player at the moment. When I post bands in here, it's not because I just found out about them. I guess it's more like a "Now Playing" sort of thing.
Heh, I'm an old man, I've "been there and done that" with alot of bands mentioned in here. When I buy CDs it's mostly to replace tapes/albums that sound like crap now.

This is a very solid album. It sounds like the instrumentals of shoegaze/post-rock flung together with a deep voiced post-punker trying to move along as melodically as the music itself. Terrific vocals along with the pounding drums really drive the music and bring it all together. The overall result is a very tight, cohesive, and well made record. Definitely one I'm picking up on it's release (July 5).

I made a mix tape a few nights ago. It has a couple Mr. Bungle songs, some Slayer, Stevie Wonder, Led Zep, TV on the Radio, Death Angel, and of course the greatest song ever: "Wheel in the Sky" by Journey.
I was listening to that song on my computer and then when I went out to my car and turned the radio on, it was on the radio as well! Steve Perry knows no bounds!
Now I'm digging "Heart of the Sunrise" by Yes. Fantastic song.
