My favorite part of Zappa is his inexplicable hatred for seemingly random bands, as if they killed his mother and raped his father. Very different from what I was expecting. There are points on it where Beck doesn't even seem to be the focal point. It runs a wider range of electronic music than I thought it would, too.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask, because I usually hate solo guitar albums, but I'm enjoying this one, so maybe that says something.

Nothing really out of the ordinary. For the most part it's basically just techno pop made with surgery noise samples. Most of the time you won't recognize the samples, except for the occasional "squish squish". Still, it's an amusing listen and it creeps you out when you think about it. They remind me of The Soft Pink Truth and a little bit of Ratatat, to give you an idea.

I don't think it's that worth of a buy. It has some impressive songs but as a whole it's quite inconsistent, compared to their EPs. If you like to hear a more melodic side of the band with singing you might like it.
