Poison the Well's oldest CD The Opposite of December, especially tracks "A Wish for Wings that Work" and "Slice Paper Wrists"
Also the "No Self Control" CD by the Planet Smashers especially the song "I Wish I Were American." That is a friggin awesome ska song. It would be my favorite ska song, if it wasn't for the Aquabats "Super Rad" and "Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates."
So far today, it's been Joy Division's 'Permanent' and Captain Beefheart's 'Trout Mask Replica'.

No let me explain:
I saw the cartoons when they first came out and I was like ten years old. I didn't "get" that the cartoon was making fun of stupid teenagers, and the music videos were usually forgotten if they weren't sufficiently flashy.
But now that I get MTV2, I can watch the shows again and re-absorb all that I've lost.

I am in agreement. I bought the self titled because everyone said it was so good. One of the most boring cds I own.
Somebody bought it for me. They were wise enough to give me a receipt. I think I returned it and got a Smiths album, which some (NPC) may find ironic.
Today I've dug Jem's 'Finally Woken'. Shockingly good piece of trip-pop. Like Morcheeba meets Moby.
I also dug a bit of Prince's 'Sign O The Times', and a bit of Weird Al.

Eh... its alright, there are three minutes in the first song that are just insane and make me wish the rest of the record were as good. and on one of the songs I could swear they stole a riff directly from a Yes song.
Fools Gold does not suck. Other than that, you're right.
You know what? The first 30 or so seconds of FOol's Gold are awesome, and all the little guitar fills are pretty cool. It's just Monkey Boy who ruins it for everyone. If you got rid of all the bits where he's singing, it'd be a good song.

Yeah, that was me, it's a wonderful cover too - one of the best. I've converted people to M5 on the strength of that song alone. They also do a cover of ACDC's Highway To Hell, which is just wrong, and a rather good NERD cover the name of which I can't recall.
