i didn't really like the arcade fire when i first heard them a while back, but now i'm totally loving "funeral".

i'm also liking the fiery furnaces. i saw that blueberry boat was high on pitchfork's best albums of 2004 list, then read a list the next day that called it worst album of the year, so i had to hear it. do most of you around here not named ihateusernames like these guys? seems to be a pretty love it or hate it thing.

Yes, definitely. It's not quite on Soundgarden levels, but it's better than Audioslave.

It's nothing like either of those bands though, it's more of a singer/songwriter type thing. Steel Rain is ****ing amazing, such an great song. Even if you don't get the album, everybody should check out that song.

Really? I felt like that track was the weak point. Just so tacky and overdramatic. I don't particularly want to hear a poor voice actor amidst all the music... it hurt the overall flow of the album.

I'm still wrapping myself around ATDI's "In/Casino/Out." It's a nice album; it's much more upbeat than their other albums. However, my favorite songs off the album (Napoleon Solo and Lopsided) aren't very happy at all.

But there's always "Pickpocket" and "Transatlantic Foe."

I picked up 3 Inches of Blood - Advance and Vanquish today (as an afterthought, really; I needed to buy something to break a £20 note and get bus fare), so I've been having a bit of a metal night. Listened to Advance and Vanquish a couple of times over, then some Iron Maiden, and now I'm working my way through my Manowar stuff. Up next; Scepter.

Prior to this, though, I was carrying on that Bjork listening, and then quite a bit of listening to Together We're Heavy.

Anyone who likes X Japan is a dunderhead and a facist. Fact.

I pulled out my ol' Opeth albums, and discovered I could only listen to a few choice tracks from a few choice albums without getting bored. And to think they used to be my favorite band.

And after getting really stoned for the first time in a while (and thus I was pretty dang high), I layed down in the dark and listened to MBV - Loveless and Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye on headphones. It was like hearing the voice of God.

About twenty minutes. I was looking for a good forum. I've never found a forum I liked that much. This one seems pretty good, though a lot of people here seem to be stuck in mid-90s grunge/metal. That's okay, because I like mid-90s grunge/metal.

This section of the forum is definately the best. It seems you have simila taste in tunes to a lot of users here, so just stick with Alt/Indie. Don't post in Rock & Metal, it's a shithole.

Yeah, I didn't bother with the other forums. I don't really have anything to say to someone who thinks Nickleback is good.

Other Music is also good, but this is better. R&M is dodge, unless you like extreme metal, in which case there is one good thread.
