I like how the lyrics still don't make much sense, but this time they at least use normal words to somehow create an atmosphere of power and beauty. And Jim screams "Walk away!" underneath the chorus of "Born in hearts/ Etched in cold/ at the first showing."

There's this part right at the end of the show, in "With Or Without You", Bono sings his high falsetto parts, then, right when Edge starts the D chord progression, Bono just weakly says "goodnight". Low - "The Great Destroyer"
^ It's been pretty damn good. While it is a slight departure in tempo, it still sounds very 'Low'. Even with songs that feel fast for them, their are still plenty of slower tempoed songs to counteract and balance this turning-point album. Overall, I think this album is just proof that this group has versatility behind their songs that wasn't fully realized before.

Archer Prewitt - "Wilderness"

Beautiful, eloquent, and well crafted. This is the type of strong songwriting that will fall through the cracks. This previous member of the Sea and Cake has created an amazing pop album with a slight wave of melancholy covering it's tunes.

My brother sent me a whole mix CD that will be occupying my time for a while, although certain albums more than others. I had heard most of the stuff already, but the inclusion of AH, Folkways, and Intoxicated Spirit is pretty new and different for me.

Ben Lee - Breathing Tornados
Bhagavan Das - AH
Folkways
Janis Joplin - 18 Essential Songs
Jonathan Fire Eater - Wolf Songs For Lambs
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Intoxicated Spirit
Sleater-Kinney - Dig Me Out
T. Rex - Tanx & Electric Warrior
The Rapture - Echoes & Out of the Races and Onto the Tracks

Is Rufus Wainwrights new album worth owning?
I would say, yes, undoubtedly.

Today I have been going through albums I have but haven't rated yet on RYM. So I have digging Bill Hick's Rant In E Minor, and Fleetwood Mac's self-titled.

Later I shall probably get stuck into Penderecki's Matrix 5. Should be fun.

I ripped 4 of my dad's Ry Cooder albums last night and this morning. I just put on Bop Till You Drop, and I like what I hear.

Why can I not get enough of Mr. Bungle - CaliforniaBecause it's more more entertaining and inviting than challenging. ;)

I woke up this morning to the sound of Air's Moon Safari. 'Twas a good morning. :)

So I've been listening to some more Ry Cooder, and I've decided that his Paradise and Lunch album is something of a masterpiece.

Is Ry Cooder that guy who is considered one of the greatest country guitarists ever? I'm pretty sure he even made the Rolling Stone list (somewhere in the top ten or twenty).

sik 1 m83. That's such a sweet album.

I'm really digging Arcade Fire. I almost bought the latest Nick Cave yesterday on sale and I will buy it eventually, I just have to get around to it.

'Get ready for love' is quite possibley the most foot-tapping-head-bopping 1st song on a disc in the history of australian music
Amen.

Nick Cave is my man of the week. I've also been diggin' Danse Macabre as I gave the my DJ friend the album and now she plays it all the time and it's freakin great.
