Sikth are an awesome UK band. Crazy Multiple personality Vocals and Metalcore Riffs, backed by an amazing drummer leave me with no doubt as to this being my second favourite band of all time.
Songs to check out would be:
1. Hold My Finger
2. Such The Fool
3. Scent of the Obscene

Sikth. Sixth! Get it?!?!?!
Today have been mostly digging The Afghan Whigs, and Scissor Sisters. On the Whigs front, I was playing 1965, and I've changed my opinion of it. I thought it was their worst record before, by far, but now it's drawn level with Black Love. Scissor Sisters was for the 2004 review. I want so badly to hate them, but they're too damn catchy.

the album is great but nothing like the single. it has more emotional heartfelt songs about suicide, death and lost loves, with a clever outlook on them. its depressing without being overly dramatic. really worth a listen, but first download, annie waits, zak and sara, and carrying cathy.

One of the albums the blokes here rave about that's actually worth raving about.
I got a portable CD player for Jesusmas, which means I can now listen to music without disturbing Daddy, so I went on an indie-pop listening spree.
Beulah, The Cardigans, Starlight Mints, The Unicorns, Pinback, Polyphonic Spree, Kayo Dot.

Here's something interesting that happened: I was flipping through the channels in the area of 65-70 that I don't usually watch, when I noticed music videos being played on channel 69. That's the "Style" channel, which is like a whole channel of models walking up and down runways. Well, at this time there was something different going on, where a music video would be playing on one side of the screen as model footage was being shown on the other side.
It was pretty interesting: they showed videos from Mogwai, Kevin Shields, and all sorts of indie-rock-pop goodness.

That's all I can list by him because that album (2 disc set) set me back by 24 bucks. It's worth it though, each CD's just about set to the limit, both clocking out around 80 minutes. Really good stuff, all mellow music.
I need some help finding new stuff. Right now I'm digging The Flaming Lips (all except their 80's stuff, I just can't get into it), Sigur Ros, Radiohead, and Beck. Any suggestions? I've been considering getting Agaetis Byrjun (and most likely will), not too interested in Beck's Stereopathic Soulmanure, so basically not interested in any suggestions for the bands that've been listed. I also listen to Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes, Weezer, Built to Spill, The White Stripes, and Pixies. I'm not interested in Muse, Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth, The Mars Volta, The Smiths, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, The Shins, or Death Cab for Cutie. Any suggestions?
P.S.- Please excuse the pickiness.
Try Mansun - Wide Open Space, or Legacy. If you like, try and get hold of the album Six.
And Haven - Till The End, and Say Something are awesome songs. However, I can't recommend an album since I only have one and I have yet to listen to it.
Of course, I'll recommend The Afghan Whigs too, but you probably already knew that. And if Odelay's your bag, get Paul's Boutique by the Beasties.

I saw OK Computer on vinyl today. Fifty-two dollars.
I have OK Computer on vinyl... it was a gift but it only cost $25. Which isn't too bad considering it's a 2xLP and considered such a 'modern classic'.
Recently I've been into Christmas gifts...
Low - A Lifetime of Temporary Relief

Fennesz - Venice

My Bloody Valentine's Isn't Anything
Brian Eno's Ambient 1 & 2

They're a rock and roll band, with few fans on MX. Most of the bands I could compare them to would be really unknown rock bands, so it wouldn't help. Since the band are very open with fans, influences are easier; Stiff Little Fingers, Cheap Trick, Husker Du, Big Black, The ****ed, The Beatles, The Replacements, The Clash, The Ramones, Blue Oyster Cult.

Two words: William Shatner.
This week I have been mostly digging X Japan's Art Of Life. It's a 29-minute long song with some awesome instrumentals (including a fantastic 6-minute piano solo), and it's one of the few completely English lyrics they ever wrote. The drumming is immense too, and the guitar work ain't slackin'.
I'm gonna write a review of it today.

Right now I'm digging Explosions in the Sky... I'm not really familiar with this type of music, even though I've heard heaps of good stuff about it. So I decided to check out Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place, and ****damn it's a good album!
I did get a little bored during some bits, but for the most part it's really good.

Excellent.
Today (all three hours of it I've been awake) I've been digging Bjork, mostly Homogenic and Medulla (which was rescued from the CD player earlier today).

They are a fun band in small doses. Nothing more nothing less.
