Gees I missed a lot. Only thing I'm going to comment on is how much The Who owns. Live At Leeds is one of the best live recordings ever. And in regards to the "poppy" stuff, the Beatles wrote poppy songs, and everyone loves them. Therefore, poppy music in 1966 is no reason do dislike The Who. Besides most of The Who's pop wasn't even that popular.

Live at Leeds may actually be the single best live album ever, in my opinion. I used to have a copy, but it got scratched and broke eventually. :upset:. And I've never really got some of the criticism for classic rock bands making "pop songs". I think a lot of people just hear "pop", and assume that we're talking about boybands and the like from today, whereas a huge amount of what The Beatles, The Kinks, Queen and plenty of other bands did can only actually be described as pop.

Yea I agree. We associate pop with bad, but the pop songs by bands we like(the Bealtes, Who) are usually quite good.

Why not? Floyd at their best (WYWH), are better than The Beatles at their best, imo, and I'd definitely rate their songwriting higher, without any doubt at all. The Beatles were more consistent, but Floyd had more unbelievable moments.

Yea I guess the argument is that even if Floyd's best is better, the Beatles had more bests. I might actually prefer Floyd though.
