I read the entire 7 pages every word.........

I like Folk,Country Rock(Bob and Neil etc.),Blues,Blues Rock,Acid/Pyscheldia Rock, Prog, reggae, Funk,Alternative,The Beatsie boys(non gangsta rap), Classic Metal(Maiden,Preist),Bluegrass(to an extent)

Stuff I hate: Jazz, hardcore bluegrass(pure banjo, crazy hick singer) nearly every kind of metal and punk, COUNTRY(as in the new stuff exp. Ford commerical stuff.

My range is kind of small!

Wjhat is the name of that Rolling Stone song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should give metal a chance, it actually takes some musical skill. But I hate jazz, I just can't get into it.

Badmoon
10-04-2004, 08:58 PM
Since Bluegrass and Folk are Country I'll add in a little of them.

Johnny Cash, Old & In the Way, David Grisman, Tony Rice, Leo Kottke, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and then there are tons of great Country Rock bands.

Badmoon

Badmoon

You're all forgeting about the classic rock comeback. Lots of people will remember the older music now and it will live on. No matter what, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, The Who, The Beatles, The Doors, Rush, AC/DC... all of that music ,the most popular classic rock bands, will always be great. And people will always like them.

Though I think the less known stuff will be forgoten :(

well said..i dont have a lot of new cds though, mostly records. i will have to keep my record player as well.

and to badmoon: who is Grisman? was he also in the grateful dead?

David Grisman is probably the greatest Mandolinist ever. He was not part of The Grateful Dead, but he did collaborate with them on several occasions. Him and Jerry Garcia also (more so at the end of Garcia's career) made many albums together, whether if it was just them or in Old & In the Way. He's a Bluegrass musician, but he does occasionally mix Country, Jazz, Blues, ect. He mixes so much, that he has his own name for his brand of music, "Dawg" music.

i want a mandolin, i could figure it out pretty easily. i have played a few at music stores but they are too expensive.
how many classic rock bands actually had a mandolinist in their band? i cant really think of any offhand that had a permanent mandolinist, usually the guitarist would just switch over for a song or two.

I meant in comparison to how Classic Rock was popular. Basically, for REAL metal you have to be into the music to really know about the music.

Edit: I'm pretty sure The Beatles had some Mandolin, and JPJ does come to mind.

k umm its about a mall near my house which sucks..theres hermit crabs though and they are cool...try to imagine the rhythm of the song, it makes it sound better.

One shoe was too large, and one shoe was too small
And the ones that you just tried on, don’t fit your feet at all
Where’s the employees, down at Northgate Mall

And if you go…to buy a shirt, and the colours are just too dull
Tell ‘em you have a…half price coupon, but the shirts are way too small
Where’s the employees, down at the Northgate Mall

When the jeans are too expensive, and you just don’t have the dough
And you just tried some kind of Mavi’s, and the waist was way too low
Where’s the employees, does anybody know?

When the hermit crabs in their shells, have fallen completely dead
And your so tired of shopping, your legs feel just like lead
You keep saying, inside your head…

I wish I were dead!!!! Wish I were dead!!!
