So yawning mid song is the mark of a good guitarist, I knew my playing needing something, and know I have found it.

That's because
a) He has an ego the size of a small country
b) He doesn't write anything other than blisteringly fast monotonous wank-fests, so no wonder he was covering Eddie
c) I'd rather listen to Vai, Becker, Satriani, Cooley, Gilbert, or pretty much any half-decent modern guitarist or virtuoso before being subjected to Yngwies technical wankery.

There's actually a way to do it. But I don't know how.
Easy...
I run one of my turntables into my mixer, run the line out from the mixer to the line in on my soundcard, and just record using Soundforge or Cool Edit Pro or something. There are plug-ins to reduce pops/hiss if it bothers you. Otherwise you just have to make sure you're recording at the right level. I'd probably normalize the sound after it was done recording, too. You don't have to use a mixer, just have the right connection to get the RCA from the turntable to the right connection on your sound card. Although it's probably better to run it through a mixer first. I have tech 12's so they have a ground I need to connect to the mixer. Plus the mixer has a little EQ so I can clean it up slightly if it sounds too muddy.
Make sure you have decent needles and cartridges on the player too, it will greatly affect the sound.
I used to record my DJ set's on the computer this way.

The kids these days are all listening to the "famous" or "signature" songs of the real popular bands. Kind of a p*** off if you ask me. They wont get into the real deep stuff. Just as an example, If i say Stairway to Heaven, or Whole Lotta Love, they're all over it. BUT, if I say something like Dazed and Confused or Kashmir, they haven't a clue. All they know is the "Big Names" like Zepp and Hendrix. Even then, they dont know the really good ones. Probably the worst for it is AC/DC. All they know is the Brian Johnson era songs. None of them know the really good Bon Scott songs, Personally, I'm into Neil Young, Floyd (NOT ECHOES!) even Boston now and then. I'm all for Zeppelin, but noone really knows the good ones, the ones put by the wayside. I say they put rock history in todays schools. Just have them listen to a Fleetwood Mac album for an hour or two so that they REALLY know what Classic Rock is like.
I like Zeppelin and have listened to all their albums.
I'm over the main songs(too overplayed),
I like Over The Hills And Far Away, Living Loving Maid, Bring It On Home and The Battle of Evermore..
btw im 14.

If you are refering to the newest John Foggerty song, then I've heard it on my radio station as well. It's not even a classic rock station, which is a good sign. The fact that we still have a well-known guy playing Classic Rock and getting radio play is a great thing.

But if you hummed the bassline from Take A Walk on the Wild Side, they'd know. People think he is a one hit wonder, which couldn't be further from the truth, especially if you consider he was in The Velvet Underground (which most people BETTER know). When I was in Italy last month, I saw a euro-dance remix of "Satelite of Love" that made me nautious.

Although I agree about these pretenders (better word than posers) I think sometimes people just go too far with it. For example When I was at a festival concert some old man kept blabbering on about how he deserved to be up at the front and most people probably couldn't name 3 foghat songs. Now, this was a festival concert, Foghat were not the headliners, sure most people in the crowd could probably only name slowride, but then again that's probably ont what most of them were there for, nor did i hear anyone (but him) profess to being there because they were a super huge expert and connaiseur of the music being played. You can't always expect everybody to know everything.
But it is annoying to have someone ask to borrow your discman so that they can listen to stairway only to give it back in 3 and a half minutes. (This has actually happened to me)

I've never heard Muse's music, just that they sound like Radiohead.
And as for my question about nationality, I thought you brought them up cause they were Canadian too. Hence, my question about being british.

You've just relaised this? jeeze you're slow!
The grateful dead are great (as is Santana's drummer) I've been showing my friends some of their stuff, but I think it's an acquired taste in much the same way Pink floyd is. You often want to start people off with something Like DSOTM because it's more normal then talot of the other stuff, Just like I think I'd have more success having them listen to A shortish rendition of good lovin or Ramble on Rose then with a super long (more obscure) jam session.
EDIT: I must be off now though, bye.

Maybe, but I think The Dead have them. and that's coming from a former Who maniac who couldn't accept that there are bands as good or better.

Well why not debate 2 other bands after we debate Zeppelni and the who?
