what do you think is the best concept album?

i think DSOTM is great because its so relaxed and flows perfectly.

I think Strange Days by The Doors is probably the most subtle concept album, but you can definitely tell what Jim is trying to say. Most people overlook this as a concept album.

As to learning entire albums, I've always wanted to do a cover of an entire album. Right now I can play all but 3 tracks on dark side of the moon, and 4 outta 5 of Wish You Were Here. But I really want to do Close To The Edge the most.

Oh man I'm all excited now! I went to my friends house yesterday and he had his keyboard out. So I started playing, never have before in my life, and I could actually play coherent chords and progressions. I played Iron Man and Smoke on the Water, for instance. Nothing too hard, but I was shocked. Especially since I have a piano in my basement and have never attempted to play before. I always thought it was too hard. But I guess my theory experience from guitar helped with the piano. Now I just have to learn what fingers do what key, and I should be set. :thumb:

I'm actually going to try to learn the first Grateful Dead album. It will be next to impossible to find those tabs, but the songs aren't half as hard compared to their other stuff. It's all more Beatles like Rock n Roll, mixed with a little Psychedelia. So, obvoiusly it's more simplistic.

dude, everyone here is saying what there favorite bands are. That wasnt the point of the thread at all.Hes talking about how everyone in the WHOLE GOD **** WORLD suddenly like rock now.not asking what ur favorite bands are.

And i have noticed that all the kids at my school like rock now.i mean there are these little preps who ive known all my life and theyve been preps and theyre suddenly wearing led zeppelin shirts and being like o my favorite song is tnt by ac/dc. anyone who actually listens to rock will know that T.N.T. is by far NOT ac/dcs best song(atleast not sung by bon scott). it really pisses me off because ive always been into rock. Now suddenly everyone in the whole f in world is in love with led zepp. and,if ull take notice, its only the really popular bands, like led zeppelin and Ac/Dc.i mean,i dont see alot of people walkin around with a doors or the who shirts.( im not sayin the doors and the who arent popular)and most of them cant appreciate when a band with all around talent all around comes around like queen. they are just a bunch of ****ing posers that go with what everyone else is wearing, and quite frankly,it really pisses me off because now its hard to distinguish between posers and real rockers/metalheads. If u go up to one of these new found lovers of rock, and ask them what theyre favorite song is by led zeppelin, theyll say stairway.Ask em their fav. by ac/dc,they say t n t or highway to hell.Guns n roses,(if they pretend like they like them which not alot do) they say paradise city. They just name songs that EVERYONE has heard of no matter what type of music u listen to.It gets really annoying.None of em can name a fricken other than stiaryway to heaven and sure as hell cant name an album if u ask em about led zepp.
now that im done with my tiraid of these damm posers poping up everywhere, the guy who started this thread isnt asking you who ur favotite band is,hes asking if uve noticed this revival of rock. revival brought on by posers and preps that claim they like this type of music.our type of music.

It's not that, theres just no point in continually bringing up discussion of modern rock in a classic thread. We're obviously all here because we are especially partial to the classics.
