ehh this has gone off topic a bit...this has gotta be the most successful rock metal thread yea? but anyway has anyone seen the newest Led Zeppelin DVD. I thought it was great, ive never heard them live before, and when jimmy page used the violin stick on the guitar! that was soo cool, how creative. I managed to watch the whole thing through in a single night, it was just too good to come back to another time, what did you all think of it?
It got worse as Zeppelin got older. The hall and Earls Court were the best, imo.

I've noticed kids only liking popular and well known Classic Rock bands, like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, ect...
They missout on some of the greatest lesser known Classic rock bands. Like The Byrds, or Buffalo Springfield, Big Brother and Holding Company, The Velvet Underground, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Van Morrison, ect. Most of those bands were pretty big in their day, but the kids these days aren't looking for those bands. Usually, they are looking for the heavier, or louder types, but that's only the kids I know.
ya big brother and the holding co. kick as, so does the velvet undergorund and the byrds.. but what about iron butterfly, abnd santana no1s mentioned them, and blind faith, and all the classic punk rock, and yes, and the jim hiendrix none of theose bands were metioned yet or quicksilver messenger service the alan parsons project, deep purple, alice cooper, and if ne1 says ac dc ill shoot them cus they suck i used to like them.. i was a lsoer

And of course there are more hugely popular Classic Rock bands that should be known forever. Like, The Who (My favorite). They make music like no other. Each member was fabulous, all craftman. Or The Grateful Dead, who defined a generation, and started a long line of San Fransico bands. Or Crosby, Stills Nash, and Young. Who in many ways were the American, more talented Beatles. They had it all. For most Classic rock listens, that band is usually over looked, and The Grateful Dead.
I recomend all Classic Rock listeners to listen to these lesser known Classic Rock bands
Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds, The Hollies, Blind Faith, Big Bro and Holding Company, The Mother of Invention, The Lovin' Spoonful, ect. There is just to much to name.
Yeah... a lot of people don't know about blind faith... which is a shame, because in my opinion, they were almost as good as the cream... seeing as clapton and baker were in it. i don't know if I would call the lovin' Spoonful classic rock though. Still great anyway. Oh yeah, did you know that John Sebastian played harmonica on a doors album.

Well, in Blind Faith, Clapton did a pretty good job soloing. But I don't think that Ric Grech (the bassist) was that good of a bassist. It would have been better if it was Jack Bruce, but that would be Cream with Steve Winwood on the keyboards, now wouldn't it?

And yeah, classic rock is becoming extremely popular among teenagers.
This was thanks to School Of Rock in my part of town :thumb:
but the kids think they know everything and it pisses me off cuz im possibly one of the largest floyd fans in the world and i cant get into a convo with anybody bout Pink Floyd without either Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2, Welcome to Machine, Have a Cigar, Wish You Were Here, Money, or Brain Damage is mentioned.........I cant have a nice discussion about their early music which i enjoy better (SYD BARRETT IS GOD :) ). If i mention anything off of Ummagumma like the happy "Granchester Medows", they will say Whats Ummagumma? I dont listen to emo. (Because where i live if it isnt classic rock or metal the little wannabes think its emo.....which makes me angry cuz i happen to like AFI and they call them EMO! :upset: but now back to the subject). Piper at the Gates Of Dawn is pure genious! All my friends that like floyd HATE syd barrett ad espc piper at the gates of dawn......but they love
everything off of A Saucerful Of Secrets which was partially written by Syd Barett, but David Gilmour played i THINK.....i cant remember :upset:
Kids are obsessed with drugs but dont take them where i live  i find it confusing.......they always talk about drugs and i say hey you.....shut up ur not funny..........but dont get me wrong im not an edger :smoke: wink wink :D but seriously thats all the talk about because they associate classic rock with drugs
finally....STOP LABELING! ITS NOT CLASSIC ROCK IN MY OPINION!.... :D

Usually, they are looking for the heavier, or louder types, but that's only the kids I know.
amen man. ten years after, the velvet underground, jeff beck and the jeff beck group, neil young, stevie ray vaughan, yes, the allman brothers, frank zappa, procol harum, king crimson, early fleetwood mac, chicago, the faces, blind faith, t rex, and quicksilver messenger service ar only SOME of the lesser known classic acts that are as equally talented or MORE talented than the ones that are known.
Eh, Looks bad. What are the dimensions for avatars allowed?
