17 here...I'm turning 18 in 3 months.
Getting back on topic here, has anyone here seen Boston live, because I'm about to go see them and I want to know what to expect
Yes, they played at SummerFest here and apparently sucked. They really are a studio band. A sweet studio band, but a studio band nonetheless.

Yeah. Their guitarist is great on recording. But seems like he would be a little sloppy live (maybe, i've never seen them live).
Healey never misses a note. Unless he's doing improvs to make his live show better than the recording ;)

A lot of the Eagles pre-Hotel California work was country rock. I normally can't stand country, but there are some exceptions.

if i could have a cool robert johnson avatar I would, though no one would recognise him. As for CCR, I think there are elements of both, i have heard the term "swamp rock". Bob dylan i say if folk rock, although to classify is only to degrade.

ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?
o and for u classic rock fans, the crime of the new century was that the Yardbirds new CD, Birdland, recieved no attention at all. that deserved a grammy, or 6.
so are there any other classic rock fans out there, and even if ur not, have u been noticing somewhat of a revival in interest for that sort of music?
i agree once a few people in my school started listining to the cloassics many other people started noticing it but most of the songs they know are only upstream. but there has been a definite growth in the popularity in classic rock lately :chug:

Countdown to Allmans...2 days
Most of The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, The Byrds, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Buffalo Sprinfield, Neil Young, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Country Joe and The Fish, CCR, some Allman Brothers, and Elvis Presley.
Obviously those are highlights, and I wouldn't be surprised if most of you didn't know a few. Well, that easily shows how underrated Country-Rock is.

Duff (bass player) wrote songs on his own, and performed some of them with GnR. For example, "Dust n Bones" was a Duff song. Same with "fourteen years" from use your illusion 2. He does the main vocals, but Axl usually weasels his way in there, because there is no way he would do a song he couldn't sing on.

Yes. They were pioneers in the arranging of Classical Music to the Rock genre. Great band.
I am a lover of pretty much all classic rock. I think it is absolutely great music, and defined an era and all music to follow in the "rock" genre. Why it is underappreciated is beyonf me, but the fact that it is seeming to be popular with the youth of today is a sign of great things to come in my opinion. I particularly enjoy:
The Beatles
The Eagles
The Who
The Rolling Stones
All Clapton projects: The Yardbirds, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes, Eric Clapton (solo career).
The Moody Blues
Boston
Aerosmith
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
The Grateful Dead
Led Zepplin
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

Neil Young
Cat Stevens
Jimi Hendrix
Far too many more than I can remember at this time.

A night full of joys and dissapointments. The night started off pretty bad. They are touring with Los Lonely Boys, who I think are great. I would go to a concert just to see them. But for some reason, they were unable to play. So they got some other crappy warm up band called the Bottle Rockets. So finally, The Allman Brothers came on. They started off with Stateboro Blues and One Way Out. I thought it was going great. Then, the next 5 or so songs were all newer. Now don't get me wrong, I thought the playing was great, everything sounded so beautiful, and all that, but I was there to hear the classics. The second half of the concert started off with Midnight Rider, so I thought we were back on track, but they just played some more newer songs. The encore was Melissa. I was slighty pissed that they didn't play Whipping Post, Jessica, Hot Lanta, or Elizabeth Reed, but I understood that they weren't just playing for me. Overall, it was an incredible experience and one of the best concerts I have ever attended, but I can only think that it could have been sooo much better.

I like wearing my shirt but do not want to be included of that stupid group :( (i own all the the Zeppelin Albums and I have the Dvd)

Wow, that would make you the only person who is allowed to wear a shirt and like a band. Congrats :thumb:

I also like wearing concert shirts because it actually shows your a true fan and not only buy the shirt because your classic rock loving friend(can't say i have any) listens to them.

The only people I know who wear zeppelin shirts are me and another guy but he's a real fan. But next year i'll know freaking 50 people who aren't fans but wear the shirts.

Because whether or not you have a t shirt proves whether or not you really like or know anything about the band.

Who was playing? Musician wise.
