I, the other day, bought, at the same time:

Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes
Radiohead - Pablo Honey

I needed to buy the Tori Amos, because it has a song on it I need for a school project (plus, I like Tori Amos). I needed to buy the Radiohead because I own the other five studio albums of theirs, and it was necessary.

McFly > Kaiser Chiefs

I decided to give Gang of Four a listen after constantly being told that most of my favourite bands copy them so today I got Brief History of the 20th Century. Was that a good one to get? It was only £5 so...
I also picked up Sonic Youth - Experimental Jet Set

Edit: Oh and I've really enjoyed Gof4 so far! If any one band I like is clearly influenced by them its got to be The Rapture. Holy poo I couldnt believe my ears. Today has been highly enlightening

My review (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=1844)

I'm a huge Beck fan, and I really like it. I was a tad dissapointed that it wasn't like all of his other albums in that it wasn't a complete departure from anything else he'd already done, but I don't care that much. I'm not that picky. Have you heard the other remixes that you can get off of iTunes?

As for Radiohead, I have The Bends, Ok Computer, Kid A, and Hail To The Thief, and I don't want to bother with picking a favorite. Why try? They're all great. I've heard most of Amnesiac already, and it doesn't sound like it's going to change anything. Just more Radiohead music for me.

I never did end up buying any of those cds. I got (What's the Story) Morning Glory instead.

I heard the leaked torent. I was extremely disapointed. Probably because I compared it to the Unseen, but still, it's too synthie for me. Well, for a Quas album at least. And I know that I shouldn't set standards that way because it only limits what I can listen to. But it was just too poppy.

Well, most of the vinyl I got for between 2.99 and 7.99. Rubber Soul was 15, Pedro was 10. Everything except the Pedro is used though. I guess I've decided that I really just want to get a really great vinyl collection, and since I'm a poor college student, the best I can do is rummage used record stores and buy anything that is still in really good condition. I believe they're all original prints, but then, I don't claim to know a whole ton about vinyl, and I could be completely wrong. There are a couple of decent stores in Phoenix that I'll probably visit once a week just to check for new goodies. I got everything on that list, including the cds, for $100. Oh yeah... I left off that I got The Arcade Fire's Neighborhood #2 7". That was 8.99. So yeah, all that vinyl and a few cds for $100, but everything was used except for Arcade Fire and Pedro.

How are the extra tracks?

RollerQueen
05-31-2005, 10:36 PM
"Extracurricular" is a decent track, but "Catacombs" is the better of the two extras. The former was culled from a split 7"/cd that they did with a band called Sunshine and is what you'd expect from the El Paso boys. It's definitely not a bad song or anything that takes away from the original album. "Catacombs" is simply a better track, and seems to fit in with the album art in its own way. If you don't have Relationship of Command already, I definitely recommend picking it up. If you have it and are only kind of a fan of ATDI, it's not particularly worth the extra $10-$16 for only two extra songs. If you love ATDI and want to support their posthumous output and support Fearless, definitely get it. The bonus tracks aren't filler or just random garbage that they wanted to put on to cash in on Fearless's recent acquisition of whatever rights to the album.

As a side note, my copy of Vaya (pre-reissue) won't rip to my iTunes/iPod. It won't rip onto my brother's, either. Is this something with my copy of the cd, or is it just some irregularity found in all copies of the EP?

a bit less lofi and more song structure oriented then his first few albums and it definetly feels like he's got the makings of a great successful album. Well, that's what would have been said if Happiness In Magazine's didnt already come out. well worth it though.
