ya, how is it different from Modern Dance? i guess i just don't like the mood on that record for some reason, it's good but i don't really like it as much as i thought i would. it was worth 7 bucks though

Well I've only had time to listen to it twice since I got it, but so far, it's good. A little patchy maybe, but then maybe it'll grow on me. Liz Fraser's voice is the reason I decided to buy something by them, and her voice is just amazing throughout.

i'd have understood if it was Kid A, but OK Computer is a really good one, still accessible enough for a simple indie kid like me. i'd give it a whirl, what's the worst than can happen?

Bartender
11-15-2004, 11:00 AM
Well if I see for anything less than premium price, yeah, I'll buy it. So far I only like one Radiohead song though (and that's from a different album), which wouldn't really justify paying full price.

got a couple more yesterday

graham coxon - happiness in magazines
kasabian

the coxon one i'm liking from the first listen, it's as good as blur should have been in the latter years, i'm guessing albarn's influence dragged them down as this solo one from coxon is superb.

the kasabian is going to take a bit more listening to however...

Yesterday, I went to the CD store and bought 5 CDs. It was one of the most satisfying things to see the CD salesman give me a weird look as he was scanning my CDs because of the diversity of them. This let me know that my musical tastes had finally evolved, and I was into more diverse music now. I used to be into only one kind of music, and I always wanted to open my eyes to more, but I never did. Until now.

Wow, that story was pointless.

Anyway, what were the last 5 CDs you bought? And it has to be bought, not burned or got as a gift. Because nothing beats going to the CD store. Mine were:

Ryan Adams - lloR N kcoR
The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
Cursive - The Ugly Organ
Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
OutKast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below

And I apologize for wasting your time with this pointless post.sorry i dont buy cd's i get them 4 free..wat ever i want..when i want..(family business)

Smart move. Two of those I listed are actually for my younger brothers. I was thinking about getting WYWH for John, the almost-12 year old, but decided to keep it for myself and get him The Yes Album. I got Tom the Muse one.

velvet underground-(some found rare stuff released in the 80's)

any nugget records
applejacks

and the list goes on, my look on buying records is justs search for as many records as possiable, because there are bands and groups that MTV have forgotton

Radiohead - The Bends
Sigur Ros - Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do
Elvis Costello - This Year's Model
Talking Heads - Talking Heads '77
Beck - Guero

A new release (Guero) is kind of unusual for me. I kind of bought it by accident, actually. I picked it up from a display on the wall, and re-installing it in this display proved difficult, so I figured it was easier to just buy the thing, rather than wrestling with putting it back.

A new release (Guero) is kind of unusual for me. I kind of bought it by accident, actually. I picked it up from a display on the wall, and re-installing it in this display proved difficult, so I figured it was easier to just buy the thing, rather than wrestling with putting it back.
ROFL.

How much did the inept display, and your own politeness in not just putting it somewhere else, set you back?

Just £10.99. Fortunately it was a little shop which prices new releases (relatively) cheap.

Haven't yet found out if the album's worth it though.

I did a similar thing recently but with a magazine. I had picked up the magazine and was halfway to the checkout when I realised I had no cash. Now I didnt want to put it back otherwise they wouldve looked at me and thought "haha what a loser he can't even afford a magazine", nor did I want to use my debit card for something costing £3. So I spent about half an hour looking for something of value to add to the £3. In the end I got 21 grams on DVD even though I didnt really want it as Id already seen it twice. So the magazine ended up costing me £13, but at least I didnt look like an idiot.

So last 5 cds:
M83 - Before the Dawn Heals Us
M83 - Dead Cities....
Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica
DFA 1979 - You're a Woman I'm a Machine
Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams (Downloaded)

It's a very good album. Very enjoyable. Maybe not quite up to the standard of his earlier work, but still definitely worth the layout.
