Hey Dargon, it's your turn to thrash the skinhead f*ckers. Have fun bro. There is an anti-wigger verse in the song Don't Belong Here that I wrote.

Most skinheads are really cool. Not al all rascist.

I prefer songs about war.

Sacrifice ment an anti-rascist skinhead song. Hating all people with shaved heads is the equivalent of hating all blacks/asians, etc, so Sacrifice would just be a hypocrite if he did that.

P.S. My uncle has a shaved head :)

last i checked skinheads arent usually black or asian. there is a difference between people who choose to make themselves something and people who are born something.

Skinheads always wear boots (doc martens/undercovers etc) and they wear bomberjacks and stuff like that so..

Yeah I've read the lyrics.. and I have to say.. You did quite a job there, very nice.

I got Exodus Fabulous Disaster yesturday and to be honest i dont think exodus are actually that good this album has some very good tracks but the majority isnt that good the new one tempo is about the same to tho bonded by blood is very good i still think exodus are a bit overrated

JMetallica

Exodus are on a pedestal because:

1) They were one of the first thrash bands, originated before metallica, slayer etc.
and
2) Bonded By Blood is a classic, plain and simple.

But yes, on a whole, they are not as consitantly good as say overkill or sodom, but are have always been better than testament. ;)

Arch Enemy Wuss Out of WMD Tour! 05.02.04 - 10:15PM

In what came as a complete shock to the Machine Head camp, perennial support act Arch Enemy have informed headliners Machine Head that they must pull out of the entire Weapons Of Mass Destruction tour because singer Angela Gossow broke a fingernail which had recently been through a vigorous French manicure.

Citing work visa problems and strained vocals to the media, the troubles began for the German vixen when, upon raising her devil horns for the 349th time during Arch Enemy's bizarre performance at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, her fingernail got caught in what could only be described as a metal-horned catastrophe. The members of Machine Head instinctively rushed to her aid, offering her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, after which the ever-benevolent MH boys granted the openers permission to miss a handful of shows while she recovered from what the metal diva claimed was "an extremely painful broken nail". Unfortunately, word came from their management and booking agent today that the nail would need emergency manicuring and that only the best French manicurist in all of Sweden could perform the repair, thus resulting in the bands' inability to complete the entire remainder of the tour.

To the relief of no one in particular, not a single ticket holder asked for a refund.

 hmmmm just taking the piss abit

DimebagDarrell

You get paid a little. If you write a good review with more than 100 words, then you get paid for how many people visit your review. More good reviews, more money. The site is www.epinions.com. Write a detailed review of Darkness Descends for your first review. Also, don't forget to use Lord Dargon as your name so I know who you are. Arch Enemy blows... and they'd do anything to play in front of larger audiences, so I doubt that's the case... I think the reason they dropped off IS because of that bitch of a vocalist they have. She can't keep up with the men... It's only a matter of time now before she's gone... her job is done. This I guarantee.

That's true, but I think he has the best voice in heavy metal. He's the reason I wanted to be a frontman in the first place. Well, Halford, Dickenson, Belladonna, and John Bush.

I'm a member of the Anthrax Soldiers of Metal (no surprise right?) on Yahoo.com, and Scott Ian sent all of us an e-mail. Check this out.

The new video for "What Doesn't Die" was banned by MTV. Originally
accepted by Headbanger's Ball, the decision was overridden by
Standards & Practices. The scenes in question were the fake zombie
on fire, the fake zombie carrying a fake head, and my fake zombie
killing scene where I knock the head off of a fake mummy. This is
the funniest thing I've heard all year.

I was asked to come up with some captions for possible edits.

Here they are in case we don't get to use them:

This scene does not contain casual sex and or public intoxication,
therefore it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.

This scene does not depict an unrealistic lifestyle, nor does it
contain any misogynistic acts, therefore it was deemed unsuitable
for viewing.

This scene does not depict wanton destruction of property and or
sophomoric violence, therefore it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.

This scene does not exploit anyone in any way shape or form,
therefore it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.

This scene is not reality television, therefore it was deemed
unsuitable for viewing.

This scene does not contain a lip-synching half naked faux-orgasmic
performance, therefore it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.

This scene does not promote celebrity worship, therefore it was
deemed unsuitable for viewing.

This scene is not crunk or pimped. It does not contain any bling-
bling, bitches, or ho's, excessive or otherwise, therefore it was
deemed unsuitable for viewing.
There you have it. Hypocrisy anyone?

This sure does bring back the good 'ole days of Tipper Gore and the
PMRC. Remember them? They were cute compared to what we've got to
fight against now.

Free speech for the dumb,
Scott

PS Our friends over at Fuse (and Launch.com) have no problem with
the video.

F*ck MTV. The censors and record companies control them now.

The REAL reason the video isn't ocming out is because there is no way MTV is gonna allow a Metal video to be aired.

Man, that page is so classic. Especailly the black metal one...:

21. Make sure your album goes out of print about 3years after its release... so it becomes 'cult'.
36. To producers of black metal albums: remember...no low end! If it doesn't hurt to listen to, it can't be "true".

The makers of "Get Thrashed", the upcoming documentary profiling the thrash metal scene of the early Eighties and its impact on the music scene, have posted two more preview clips via the project's official web site. The first clip features METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett talking about the influence that METALLICA had has had on the thrash genre, while the second clip features many of the artists that were interviewed talking about what they think is the "ultimate thrash album." Check it out here (go to the "Media" section).

Filming for "Get Thrashed" was recently completed and the show is currently being edited. Post-production should be completed in late spring/early summer with an air date and location to follow soon after.

"Get Thrashed", the brainchild of director Rick Ernst, a longtime freelance producer for MTV, will include interviews with METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, EXODUS, GODSMACK, DISTURBED, SEVENDUST, TESTAMENT, OVERKILL, DEATH ANGEL, SHADOWS FALL, MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, STONE SOUR, SUPERJOINT RITUAL, LAMB OF GOD, VIO-LENCE, KREATOR, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, VOIVOD, CHIMAIRA, BIOHAZARD, FOZZY singer/WWE superstar Chris Jericho, SEPULTURA, KITTIE, THE HAUNTED, D.R.I., SOILWORK, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, HEATHEN, Brian Slagel, Jon & Marsha Zazula, authors Ian Christe ("Sound of the Beast") and Steven Blush ("American Hardcore"), NY metal radio DJ Eddie Trunk, "Radio Rampage"'s Ron Quintana, as well as unsigned thrash bands OSMIUM, CONCRETE COFFIN and VISCID.

MTV has officially lifted the ban on the zombie-infested promo clip for the song "What Doesn't Die" off of ANTHRAX's latest record, "We've Come For You All", according to a posting on the band's web site.

Although the network initially banned the clip for violent content, the decision was eventually overturned for undisclosed reasons. When reached for comment, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian said, "This video needs to be seen. People need to know that this zombie menace, left unchecked, will be the death of us all!"

"The decision to air this terribly stereotypical and racist anti-zombie
propaganda is deeply upsetting," said Arthur Breakstone, chairman of the fictitious organization PETZ (People for the Ethical Treatment of Zombies), according to ANTHRAX's web site. "In this day and age for the living impaired to be portrayed as shuffling shambling flesh eating monsters is an outrage. We plan on boycotting MTV and all it's affiliated products and I urge all of you to let your voices be heard! PETZ will prevail in this matter and all others that slander such beautiful creatures."

meh. Exodus were indeed around before them, but didn't release an album till 1985 (not their fault) Venom made welcome to hell in 1981, which was the first thrash album, but it doesnt sound like thrash to me. So kill em all was the first released thrash album for me.

Overkill, Exodus, and Venom were all around before metallica... there were probably others that I can't remember right now... Manu... Snow no Mercy, 1983. Most songs are really fast speed metal admittedly, but Black Magic is thrash. So there ya go.

So I'm getting my girlfriend into thrash, I've played her Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Dark Angel, and Testament. She likes Slayer, Met, Dark Angel, and Testament. Nope, it's for old poopers to sit around and pretend they can like that spazmoidal, random, epileptic riff. (Gorguts that is)

GraveRobbers: Try some Disgorge... ahah, never mind. Hmm, many thrash bands have high vocalists. Possessed, Exumer, Exodus, Exhorder, Slaughter, and Sacrifice come to mind... some if that is quite underground and you won't be able to get it aside from Soulseek or DC+ or somethinkg like that.

EDIT: Now why the fuc.k did I say Exodus? Those vox are screeching high... oh well, you'll have to show her them anyways since they are the backbone of all thrash collections.

Pantera=Meh meaning I wouldn't buy a cd but I'd download a couple songs. Also Black Sabbath wasn't very fast but they are still loved by almost every metal fan and most rock fans too.

Also I found out how fast my internet connection at my moms house is so I've been downloading vids like crazy :thumb: if anyone can recomend some good vids or if someone has a slow connection and would like screenshots or somethin **cough Dargon cough** jus tell/ask.

Also I'm goin for 500 posts by the end of this weekend.

Maybe that'd be because it's not thrash metal... Anyway, it doesn't have to be fast to be heavy, this has been proved over and over again.

Slower is heavier.

No, not a rule...since there are no rules. But slow, sludgy, crunchy(I.E. a lot of doom) riffs are generally a lot heavier than speed speed speed thrash.

Chaos: Damageplan's album is awesome. Buy it now.
I disagree completely. I wish I wouldn't have wasted my money on it. The riffs are very boring and don't live up to Pantera standards. The vocals aren't very good and the lyrics aren't either. I would recommend downloading some of the songs and form your own opinion on them.

The Ultra Violence > The Art Of Dying > Act III > Frolic Through The Park

It's pretty decent and kind of what i was expecting from them. Not a total thrasher, but not a total abomination either. They were trying, but they just didn't have that little something thats needed to make a great album.

Well, I was banned for that little emo kid incident.. all I wished to do was explain how it was not metal.. wasn't even bashing the genre at the time (tho i do bash it quite a bit). It's almost like trying to tell someone that their HP computer is not like the Gateway you own.. sure, its a computer (its music), but they are not at all similar (emo and metal). Bleh.
