How do those two compare to Feel the Fire, better or worse? Are they pretty similar styles?
FatalEnergy

Feel the Fire (along with Taking Over) are far more speed metal constructed. The Years of Decay has a lot of variety. Really thrashy, some epic sounding stuff, and Overkill has a doomy song on every album. Horrorscope is pretty much non-stop thrash all the way though, but with a tad bit more groove in the songs. The only exceptions are the doomy title track and the ending melodic ballid-ish song. Both are well worth getting
I don't like them hardly at all. I have Taking Over, Horrorscope, TYOD, I Hear Black, Killbox 13, ReliXIV, and the DVD.

Through their entire discography, I've found every album is worthy, though some more worthy than others. My top 3 at the moment would probably be "Feel the Fire", "Horrorscope" and "WFO".
"WFO" is my favorite from '93 on. It's such a wicked album, and the bass is LOUD.

some of those bands on that list really really really blow. For example I've seen some of the new LA thrash bands such as Fueled by Fire, Merciless Death and Warbringer. Warbringer is the only half decent one there. The singer of Merciless Death needs to seriously stop.
Some bands need to completely stop. I saw another LA band once call D.A.F. (Drunk As ****) or maybe it was Drunk As ****) But they were a complete rip-off band. They played 2 songs I can remember one called The Ballad of Mister Miagi and it was totally just S.O.D.'s Ballad of Jimmi Hendrix.

Additionally, the other song was another rip-off of Nuclear Assault's Hang the Pope. If the majority of them would sit down and try to make a song and not rip off other bands it'd be fine.

Dude, exactly. Bands like Fueled by Fire, Hatchet, Merciless Death, Warbringer, Rattlehead, and all the other bands that dress like it's still 1985 are so lame. They are nothing but ripoffs. All they do is take Exodus and Vio-lence riffs, make them unoriginal, and play them. It's all speed picking! And the vocals are horrendous. I think if you put all of them on a compilation cd you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between each band. /Rant

It's sad really. Nothing new is being put into the genre, I don't think that they realize they'll never get anywhere past the local clubs if they aren't interesting. There aren't enough idiot fans to sustain mediocre thrash bands anymore. This doesn't really matter, but I have noticed that all the people into this stuff are Mexican. 95% anyways, it's really funny to see these guys with beaner staches running around with $100 Reeboks, tight pants, denim vests and bullets. It's sad again, they're dressing up, to be thrash, which is exactly what it isn't supposed to be. They're acting like hair metal guys.

Yeah, it ridiculous. The bad thing was I almost fell into that crap. Luckily I got my head out of my ***. All this new thrash sucks.
Thrash used to be my favorite, but now it's really hard for thrash to impress me. I hardly listen to it anymore sadly. Occasionally I'll listen to Vio-lence or Hypnosia or something, but for some reason it really stopped appealing to me one day.

Exactly, what are you gonna do that Metallica/Slayer/Testament/Vio-lence/Death Angel/Kreator/Megadeth/Sadus/Exodus/Sepultura hasn't already done? Be faster? No. More creative and still sound mostly thrash? No. More technical? No. These bands are all rip-offs of rip-offs. It's thrash for the stupid sake of thrash.

Ugh, that was so disappointing. I knew they were going to play Eyes of the Insane and I should just go to bed, but nope, my fanboyism made me stay up till 1am to watch them play that song. Tom's voice sucks now so bad, but it's different for me when I see them live.

It seems that thrash ended somewhere in early 90s and didn't develop further. With the rise of death and black and the fall of punk and the end of a golden era (=80s), I don't think much could happen though. It's clearly an 80s style. Many times I get the impression that newer bands (and I'm talking about those who are considered good, no some neo-trash ones) cannot match with the classics simply because they weren't lucky enough to live in the 80s.

So who here likes Annihilator? I dig their first two albums but then they suposedly get ghey after that, so I won't bother with the rest.

The first two are okay, pretty average.
Persistence of Time > All other Anthrax
By Inheritance > All other Artillery
About the Sodom....I'm neutral, my favorite is Tapping the Vein

They're nothing special.
NP: Sodom - Deadline
I really only listen to Teutonic Thrash now. It's kind of funny.

Not a fan of Annihilator, although their first album is allright.
Persecution Mania > all other Sodom stuff. Fact.
Not fact, but it's up there.

but i HATE anthraxs' vocals. With a passion.
I think Overkill and Nuclear Assaults vocals are much Much MUCH worse than Anthrax's vocals. Musically those two bands are pretty tight though.

yeah I listened to that one. It's okay, but a couple of the riffs sound so similar to their previous songs.
Testament is playing one date of Sounds of the Underground.
They hardly play any U.S. shows, and then they go and play for hardcore kiddies.

Kinda cool yes. But annoying as hell. But all ive really heard by them is Third World Genocide. Maybe they are better on their other stuff.
