yeah, Stormtroopers Of Death are crossover, like Corrosion of Conformity and DRI(awesome band).
They are basically thrash with some hardcore punk + other elements.

haha, nice to see Mortal Sin getting some recognition! Great band.
I don't really agree with that list a whole though. I'm in a list making mood, so here's my Top 10:
1. Exodus - Bonded By Blood
2. Megadeth - Rust In Peace
3. Vio-lence - Eternal Nightmare
4. Kreator - Pleasure To Kill
5. Slayer - Reign In Blood
6. Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
7. Sodom - Agent Orange
8. Sepultura - Beneath The Remains
9. Artillery - By Inheritance
10. Sadus - Illusions
sometimes I would put Pleasure To Kill ahead of Eternal Nightmare though. They are both so good :(
if you don't have all of those, then you are gay :)

Top 10 for me
Destruction - Release From Agony
Kreator - Terrible Certainty
Dark Angel - Time Does Not Heal
Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death
Sadus - Swallowed in Black
Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?
Sodom - Agent Orange
Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
Testament - The Legacy
Slayer - Hell Awaits
My list is probably quite unorthodox compared to others

I would say:

2.Swallowed in Black
3.Rust in Peace
4.Eternal Nightmare
5.The Legacy
6.Bonded by Blood
7.Terror Squad
8.RIP
9.Ride the Lightning
10.Pleasure to Kill

Drummer Igor Cavalera has officially announced his departure from SEPULTURA (as first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on January 13, 2006 and subsequently denied by both the band and Igor).
In a statement released today (June 12) to the Brazilian media, Igor attributed the split to "artistic incompatibility" with his SEPULTURA bandmates — guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. and vocalist Derrick Green.
"I believe my time in SEPULTURA has come to an end," Igor said in the statement. "I have a lot of pride in everything we have done, but I feel that the group's current formation does not meet my expectations as a musician and a person. Since my last tour with SEPULTURA, which took place in Europe in December 2004, I have sensed that my ideas were not compatible with those of the rest of the band.
"I would really like to thank all of the fans that supported me and continue supporting our music. I would also like to thank everybody that worked to make SEPULTURA the band that it had become."
Igor announced earlier in the year that he was taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January). Filling in on drums during the band's European tour with IN FLAMES was Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max in SOULFLY for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003.
Igor is the second Cavalera to leave SEPULTURA. In 1996, Max Cavalera exited the group after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as SEPULTURA's manager.
SEPULTURA are rumored to have selected Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA) as their new permanent drummer following Roy Mayorga's decision to join STONE SOUR as a full-time member.
No point now.

Long time, no talk eh? Oh well some stuff is going on in Real Life for me at the moment that has brought me back here with a few questions.
Firstly, are any Australians going to any Kreator shows? A mate and i figure we're going to tour around with them- so if anyone is going, pop a reply back here and we'll meet up or whatever.
Secondly, does Thrash Master27 still post here at all? I'm moving down to Melbourne from sydney in a few weeks, and was just wondering if he was still about.
last of all. Is anyone else from melbourne? Are there any good rock clubs or pubs down there that people such as ourselves frequent?

I've been listening to Seven Churches for a week straight-I can't get enough of it. I'd say 2 parts death, 1 part thrash. Think to yourself: what other thrash albums have you heard that sound like that? Listen to some suffocation. Fundamentally, they sound A LOT like 7 churches, only more brutal. Although, possessed never did blast beats (thank god). Oh yeah. The last song gives the mystery away. ;)
If you want to hear what possessed would sound like if they played thrash, listen to their second album.
Now compare the two. :)

Morbid Saint is definatley a great band, and is one of my bands biggest influences.
They got back together to make some new band called Hallowcore, but Pat left now. :-( His vocals are rad.
Yeah, it sucks Pat left, but I think they recorded a demo with him on it. They just haven't put it out yet.
I just realised Bret and I are the only remaining Titans of Thrash members!
It's because everyone else has a vagina now, so they don't post.
I probably won't be on to post until about Monday, because my band is going into the studio to cut a 5 song demo (It's going to rule). I'll post a song or two on a new Myspace profile when it's done and give you guys a link. I know you guys will dig the **** out of it

Hey Fatal, I need Destruction recommendations. My local record store had some albums and i'm going there tomorrow.
Well. there isn't a bad one, but some are considerably weaker than others. It also matters what you want to hear.
Early Destruction
Sentence of Death EP/Infernal Overkill (1984/1985) - The production is pretty bad, but the songs are classic old school thrash. Not very technical, but pretty damn evil. My only complaint with it is it's a bit too repetitive. Great album.
Mad Butcher EP/Eternal Devestation (1987/1986) - It's weird how they put the EP before on here instead of after, because it came a year later. Eternal Devestation is more classic evil thrash. This was the first Destruction album I got, and I'd say it's the best one to start off with. The Mad Butcher EP is where they started getting more technical, and the solos are pretty mind blowing. Also Schmier's vocals get better in my opinion.
Release From Agony (1988) - My favorite Destruction album. Really technical, but not quite as evil. The riffs are pretty brutal. Schmier's vocals are killer. The production is a little thin, but the riffs more than make up for it.
Live Without Sense (1988/1989) - Great Live album of old stuff. Destruction is most definatley a live band, and this is a great way to hear a bunch of songs off the first three albums. The production is pretty good, so the riffs seem twice as vicious on it.
Cracked Brain (1990) - The style is similar to Release From Agony, but they seem to be a little more relaxed with it and the production is much better. Lots and lots of great riffs, but this was recorded after Schmier was kicked out so his vocals aren't on it, but Andre does a great job.
New Destruction
All Hell Breaks Loose (2000) - Awesome album. Lots of great riffs, great production and everything. I personally think Schmier sounds his all time best on this album. The first 2/3 of this album is absolutley KILLER, but the last few songs won't keep your attention.
The Antichrist (2001) - Probably the best out of their new stuff. Everything is pretty much a classic on here. Really brutal.
Metal Discharge (2003) - This isn't a bad album, but it's pretty bland. There's only about 4 songs that are raging. The rest won't really keep your attention though, and there's not quite as many riffs.
Inventor of Evil (2005) - Suffers from the same problem as Metal Disharge, except mabye a little more so.
There you go. Take your pick. :thumb:

Though it doesn't sound too good from what I've read.

Well it's pretty boring, just for the fact you can't hear the guitar half the time. I got Mortal Way of Live which is Sodom's 87/88 live album, and well it's thicker, but the drums over power the guitars again.

If you want to really talk about horrible production listen to Obsessed by Cruelty again. I've haven't listened to it in forever. The drums overpower everything.

Savage Death's Crucified in Hell beats Obssessed By Cruelty in bad production. CiH has TERRIBLE production, lo-fi guitar sounds and bass rumbling in the background with crappy scream/growls.

Yeah, but that's understandable for a demo.

Hahah, I have demos of my band that sound worse than Obsessed by Cuelty. It just irritates me that I can't tell what the hell the guitar is doing half the time, because the snare and hi-hat are so loud.
I dig the cover art though
I'm not really a person that is critical about production. I love to listen to old demos and stuff, but if I can't make out riffs. That's when there's a problem

I have that Oi Crickey album, but I haven't given it a full listen.
Yeah, you're talking about that song Darkness Descends by Dark Angel. :p I'm kind of confused as to what you're really trying to say though.
Im trying to say that Darkness Descends sounds like another song .. the main riff sounds like its from a slayer song or something.

I can't think of any Slayer, but one of the riffs in the beginning sounds like One.

I dont know who but that riff at 40 seconds sounds extremly familiar.
EDIT - Nevermind I found out that the slayer song which i thought it sounded like was not actually a slayer song ... it was the same death angel song but under the name "Slayer - God hates us all" ..
Man i feel stupid now :upset:

death angel
DARK ANGEL!
I hate when people confuse the two. Especially since I'm a huge Dark Angel fan, and I could care less about Death Angel.
****! I accidentally deleted my Death Cult Demo.

Death Angel confuses me. They'll have two or three kick *** songs on an album, and then the rest will just suck, and barely even be metal.

Their riffs just don't stand out. They just seem to be really really average and generic.

Have you guys seen a tab anywhere for "Spectators of Sin"? It's on Coroner's Death Cult demo. I forgot how killer this song is

It's hard to find tabs really for any Coroner song. Although metaltabs has a lot of them, they aren't exactly accurate

I search at http://www.911tabs.com and found a bunch. Mostly Guitar Pro tabs.

I just realized how much I really love this band. I guess they are related to thrash in an almost crossover way.

Anybody a fan of this band? I have "Příjezd krále" and "Sabat v Carnegie Hall". These guys produce some of the most original thrash metal I've ever heard
They have keyboards in it too, and it actually works!

I haven't heard any of the post-Mike Browning stuff. How is that? Is it like The Key or Thresholds?
Its more technical, more gutteral vocals, louder keyboards, better production. Overall, if you like Nocturnus, I'd say buy it.
Anyone heard of Demiricous or Legions of the Damned. Legions of the Damned is a brutal thrash band with blackish vocals, killer riffs, drums and production. Demiricous is a new straight foward thrash band. I'd highly recommend them.

Just like basic metal I guess. Some people refer to them as "groove" metal though. They have way too much melody to be thrash.
