I scored an A on my science test today, because I was listening to Dark Angel and Coroner the whole time. :p

Our class managed to convince our teacher we could concentrate much better with music, so I blasted Darkness Descends and No More Color the whole time.

Sick.

Last year during my Biology final, I had my CD player hooked up in my backpack. When I threw it on the floor, it turned on without me realizing, then in the middle of the exam I hear Nevermore blasting from it, surprisingly loudly considering it was just a pair of headphones. Anyway, everybody noticed it but no one said anything, it was pretty funny and sweet.

RavenousMetalist87
09-29-2005, 09:51 PM
Man, I wish we could do that.

In CAD, we can bring in CDs, but they have to be appropriate, and a majority of the class is into hip-hop and rap, and they keep making fun of me with "Slayer".

I tell them "Slayer isn't all that and a bag of chips."

Then they talk **** about my hair.

****ers. They're just jealous because they'll never be as unique as I am :D

I wish I could do that for class. My old english teacher let us listen to music during work. That was the hizzy.

I have this music "appreciation" class, and I had to bring some of my "absolute favorite" music and listen to a song. So, I brought in "Good Mourning/Black Friday", because I was huge into Megadeth at the time (still kinda am). I melted everyones face off, especially since I played mine after a bunch of rappers. I'll never forget how the room was dead silent after the song ended. I did get in minor trouble be cause of the "What the Fck is this?" part. Luckily I'm good at excuses.

I think I will listen to that now

Generally the teachers here are pretty leniant about listening to music while doing individual work as long as "nobody else can hear that crap".

I always get **** for my hair, haha.

Good Morning/Black Friday is a great song. I was blasting that on the way to school. I had to drive my sister, and I'm not sure if she could appreciate it on the same level as me.

Maybe I'll create a metalhead out of her, yet. She seems to like Iron Maiden.

I should do that. However, at my school, I'd need something really heavy and scary. Like Razor or D666.

Hell, even Death or Morbid Angel would make them **** their pants. Especially if it's like the later stuff...the slow, doomy, and haunting sound of a low B guitar...and the growling vocals from hell, with the extreme pounding drumkit.

Go on Soulseek and look for stuff by Exorcist, Hammer, Imperator, and maybe Horrorscope. It's really good stuff if you like raw, deathy/blackened thrash (minus Hammer, they sound like Shah-meets-Mekong Delta).

Gary basically is Exodus, he wrote the majority of their material even in the early days. There is an interview with him somewhere where he states he has written 90% of everything Exodus has done. Oh yeah, Exodus have gone the way of Megadave with Gary and all, but at least they're still writing some great music.

i thought TSHF was pretty good even though it got slammed pretty bad but then again megadave have just been performing an acoustic set in a park :amaze:

Gary basically is Exodus, he wrote the majority of their material even in the early days. There is an interview with him somewhere where he states he has written 90% of everything Exodus has done. Even on Pleasures Of The Flesh i believe since the very first formation of Exodus he was the only original member there.

Gary is not an original member of Exodus.

Meh, they aren't thrash and the point gets made.

I mean, seriously, there's a lot of classical music that's fast and crazy. Thrash?

Neo-Classical Thrash Metal?

That'd be sweet to create...I should do that...but I suck at classical techniques, yet I have speed and precision and a HUGE love for Classical Music.

I can't play anything in a true classical guitar style, but stuff like Vivaldi's Summer, Pagannini's 24th Caprice, etc... are fun as hell to play.

That would be sweet if done right... *ponders*

Yeah, Animosity is pretty ok. Not great though.

Anyway, if any of you like Forbidden, check out a Slovenian band called Negligence. Released a demo in 2004, but it sounds very 80's styled. Might have been mentioned before without me noticing, but you never know.

Yeah, I blame the beer and old age. I can't remember all that I used to.

They do deserve more recognition. Plus the demo is completely free, so you can't say fairer than that. Now, where was I? I need some more sleep.

My back hurts.

I had an idea about that mailing list. Maybe it could be the Titans of Thrash mailing list! Then weekly, myself and 3 or 4 regulars could provide a link or two to a thrash album of their choice, and I would mail it out.

I choose this because:

I'm Lazy
It gives more variety.

Wow, that Megadeth announcement was... wierd.

When they finished with the song and Dave says "The answer is yes", it sounded to me like he had just been asked out on a date.

Also, what is with him and Argentina?
