wow, kreator on a childrens show

wow

 Yay for Mille! wo0o0o0o0ot!

I'm watching the Live Kreation DVD anyways so yeah, Mille on a kids show is just absolutely left in shock last night. I was having a bad evening after being called annoying by some stupid chick who's immature because I said I wasn't ready to go out with her. She says I broke up with her now wants me out of her life, but eh, after seeing Mille on that show (just the pictures), I was like "WTF?!?!"

He looked like he was thinking "God...kill me...kill me now...METAL!"

anyways, props to Mille for explaining to the kiddies what "Rock" and "Metal" are :chug:

Hah, he looks pissed, but looking pissed is the metal thing to do!

Looks like I'll be seeing Kreator again in April... and not just Kreator!! but Vader and... uh... right, Death Angel!

Show of next year?! IIIII might just think so! It'll be tough to top that anyways.

11-20-2004, 02:29 PM
^ I'm hoping to go to that show as well (NYC). Argh, it's going to own. And Cryptopsy is also playing in March. Man, next year is going to own.

Corporal Compendia
11-20-2004, 02:44 PM
This year will be tough to top concert wise, but Kreator, Vader and Death Angel is a good start. I can't wait for next year's Gates of Hell show. A now annual show in Toronto with mainly just old school Toronto/surrounding locals that don't play often. This year, Razor, Anvil, Exciter, and Infernal Majesty played, as well as a bunch of lesser known bands like Goat Horn and Warmachine.... it was the best show this year! So far anyways... Not much left this year. Macabre and... that's about it worth seeing really.

sensitiveorgan00
11-20-2004, 02:46 PM
Nice. Where are you from?

I'm assuming Canada.

Corporal Compendia

Right. Ontario to be more precise.

On the subject of next year... next year's Maryland Death Fest looks freakin' amazing already.

The show is called KinderKanal with a very fortunate capitilised K. ****, even with the K there is sounds very iffy. Kinder and anal in the same word? Nup, it shouldn't be.

Haha

This is SO FU.CKING COOL though. I think I hate living in Canada now

I added 3 new CDs to my collection of thrash:

Coroner - R.I.P.
Coroner - Punishment for Decadence
Sabbat - A History of A Time To Come

Must say, Reborn Through Hell is just purely awesome! I'm stoked to hear more XD

I have Punishment For Decadence. It's a good album, though the production on the vocals could have been better.

Meshuggah I consider technical death metal, the only similarity they have to thrash is the constant plugging on the E string (or whatever they decide to detune to)

I barely found out yesterday that Schimer and the boys are recording a new album in 2005. I wonder if Destruction will pull off a great release, as well as Enemy of God (even though I've only heard like 1 song XD)

Anyone else have the rest besides that one song?

Sometime in '05. Nothing new since the last update (that was 9-23-2004).

I'll look to see if there was anything I missed

Edit: Nope...no exact release except that its aimed for 2005. I would figure maybe early 2005, like around after Kreator releases Enemy of God. Hopefully no later then February.

Here's an idea. Pick a thrash song, then count the riffs in it. Divide that by the length of the song in minutes, and we'll see how many riffs per minute different thrash bands can clock up. I'm going to do something short to get us started... maybe Piece by Piece.

Sure, go in a chat and ask if anyone has Kreator demos. SLSK is a little hard to use at first but once you get used to it, it is great for finding full metal albums.

I think I got about 8 riffs for Piece by Piece. That's 8/2 = 4, or one new riff every 15 seconds. Not bad eh!

Low

Well actually, on "Envy Life" (from Practice What You Preach), Chuck does some weird *** growl in the beginning of the song before it goes into the first verse. However, Low was when they used the growling a lot more.

Well, I'm back from my vacation in Boston. Thanksgiving was alright, no snow though.

The local record stores and FYE in the mall had a fvcking killer metal selection, and I had about 400 bucks to spend, so here's what I got:

Overkill - Wrecking Everything: Live
Overkill - Taking Over
Testament - The New Order (vinyl)
Testament - The Legacy (vinyl)
Cyclone - Brutal Destruction
Sodom - One Night In Bangkok
Darkthrone - Panzerfaust
Darkthrone - Soulside Journey
Anthrax - Persistence of Time (vinyl)

^Oh yeah, I went ape **** when I found them.

I'm going to change my favorite album from Endless Pain to The Legacy now. I just fell in love with it.

And for all of you who haven't heard the "First Strike Still Deadly" version of Reign of Terror, d/l that sonofabitch right now. It is about 100 times heavier than the original, has Zetro back on vocals, and is guaranteed to kick your ***. The song will jump out of your speakers, grab you by your balls, throw you against the wall, and command you to headbang... and you will have no choice but to listen.

They play both, but Nuclear Winter is absent, which is disappointing because it's my favorite Sodom track.

I was just on Dark Angel's official forum, and I don't know if this has been discussed, but the band plans on releasing a DVD of live concert footage \m/

There really does seem to be a lot of thrash on it's way, I'm so happy. I was ecstatic when I heard those samples of Enemy of God, now there's the news of a Dark Angel revival plus a few other things happening in the New Year.

Anyway, in anticipation of Enemy of God I've been trying to build up my German thrash collection since I only had/have the 1st three kreator albums, so I bought extreme aggresion and persecution mania, can't wait til they arrive. I was also looking to buy some Destruction, I've heard some songs off 'The Antichrist' and I thought they were awesome, especially thrash till death which I'm now downloading :D.
Anyway, some suggestions on what Destruction albums to purchase... please.

The only thrash I think I'll get at Xmas is maybe Coma of Souls as I'm trying to build up my collection of German thrash, I ordered Mad Butcher/Infernal Overkill a few days ago and it should arrive just in time for Xmas. Need more Sodom and Destruction. Plus I ordered Punishment for Decadence this week and that should arrive by friday.
I was also comtemplating purchasing Rude Awakening and Live Kreation for some good live thrash to watch over the holiday. I bought Rusted Pieces thinking it was a live show from the RIP era but as you guys probably already know its just videos, I'm such a retard. They're a good though, I think there's the videos to Peaces sells, Wake up Dead, In my Darkest Hour, Anarchy In The UK, Holy Wars and Hangar 18. In all honesty I'd never heard Dave Mustaine talk before so it was good to hear him speak(slurr :naughty: ).
Ellefson comes across as really bitter when he's on about some 'band' stealing ideas etc. I'm pretty sure who he was referring to but then again, its Megadeth and there's a long list of bands who they hate.

Live at the Fillmore, yes, but once you have The Legacy and the New Order you're pretty much set for Testament. Unless you can find Legacy's 1986 demo somewhere... Also, d/l the remake of Reign of Terror.

The Gathering isn't bad either.

Anyways now that we basically have an entirely new crop of thrashers, it's time to ressurrect some old stuff we used to do, like naming your 5 favorite thrash and then non-thrash albums.

Go on write the list. Please. Are they all thrash?

yes all thrash and no way am i writing out 40+ albums :P

I was looking for Whiplash albums on Amazon but nothing prevailed, the only way I knew of them was because their drummer TJ Scaglione(sp.) replaced Dave Lombardo for a short while in '86.
Holy Terror, I'll keep an eye out :thumb:
40+ albums though, must be costing you(your folks) a bomb. I don't think I've bought that many in 6 months.

Oh and.........

Top 5 Thrash albums
Sepultura- Arise
Kreator- Extreme Aggression
Slayer- Reign In Blood
Slayer- Hell Awaits
Megadeth- Rust in Peace

There really is just too many good thrash albums to pick just 5, but i like to keep it varied. Some tough choices made though, Beneath the Remains or Arise? Megadeth or Anthrax? Whether to include any Metallica?

Anyway, favourite non thrash albums,

Machine Head- Burn My Eyes
Pantera- VDOP
Chimaira- The Impossibilty of Reason
Iron Maiden- Powerslave
Black Sabbath- Master of Reality

Haha i wish i would get 40, I'll only get about 5-7, i've just given people a lot of choice. I know for a fact i'm getting Exodus - Another Lesson In Violence and a Kreator album (Either EA or PTK).

I went on the Virgin Megastores site and they had Whiplash albums, check there.

i have 20-30 whiplash songs and they are very good. You can find their songs on soulseek and i think they sound a bit like early Megadeth (on some of their stuff anyway). Some of it is more Speed than Thrash but its all good :)

Calling all Slayer fans real quick. I'm trying to figure out a song I heard. I know for fact it is Slayer but I don't know the name. If anyone has seen the movie Haggard it is the song that Rake and his "gnarkill" buddies are playing on the hill while drinking beer. I think the riff may go something like this for you guitar players...

-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-0-0-0-0-7-0---0-7---2-1-0-1-

And it repeats that for a while.

Ulysses Sirens are a bay area band that were around in the mid 80's but never released any meterial. I don't know why, as they were one of the very best. Kind of Heathen with *most* of the melody gone, combined with the frenetic style of vio-lence with a slightly toned down Paul Baloff on vocals. No it isnt the exodus vocalist, but it sounds like him. Awesome band.
