Shi.t, Necrophiliac is on that? Now I need to get it.
By the way, anyone here have Live Kreation? Or whatever it is called, teh Kreator dvd. If so, would you recommend it?
I have Live Kreation, and I recommend it if you've never seen a Kreator live performance. Some say the DVD has a weird setlist, but I think you'll enjoy it.

sounds good i may have to get that, plus there's the added bonus of a fit woman :naughty: Installed Soulseek today as well, and its the best thing ever made :)
It's really only a few shots of her after the show but **** she looks fine. There's also another fairly hot chick in the crowd who when necrophiliac is being played, crowd surfs into security and calmly blows a kiss at the camera.

well i bought Reign in Blood Live - Still Reiging today and it is very good indeed but in parts i was a little dissapointed though the live set is great the whole band sound great, throughout the whole reign in blood set they stop only once which at the minute im not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. The special features are a real let down only one 15min documentary which compared to war at the warfield is nothing. All in all i will let you make your judgements on this DVD.

They only stop for toms intro to postmortem i forget how it goes(the intro), something like 'there a many ways we can die, there are many ways we can achieve death, there are many ways we can achieve POSTMORTEM' but i think they deserve just a little break after playin the other 8 songs non stop. I thought daves drumming was superb but kerry was lacking man, mainly in solos but on the whole a great performance helped of course by the content.
Also, did you see that hot chick next to tom at the end when they were walking through the tunnel?

I really suggest everyone check out Hobbs Angel Of Death if you're a fan of early Slayer as they are basically the Australian version of them. It's highly likely you'll be able to pick up one of their albums from a local CD store or something so you'll probably have to download. Anything off the self titled album is badass, especially House Of Death.

I went to Best Buy today and picked up "Still Reigning" and then went over to Tower, to my suprise finding "Extreme Aggression".
Still Reigning - I have to say, even though I couldn't see Slayer at Ozzfest (I was there, but I was on the lawn, and I couldn't see ****), this DVD reminds me of how great Slayer can be live. I really was getting into the DVD, and even the 6 extra bonus tracks + a segment about Slayer talking about how they got to where they are today and stuff are just great. For 10 bucks, this was a great deal.
Extreme Aggression - Still listening to it, but the Self Titled track "Extreme Aggressions" is purely a classic thrash anthem. I really love it but the Live version from Live Kreation is better. However, it sounds much better and cleaner on the CD. Every track I've listened to so far has been getting me wanting just pick up my guitar and play.
All in all, the new items I bought have kept my inspiration flowing and I must say, I recommend both to anyone who doesn't own them.

RavenousMetalist87
11-06-2004, 06:15 PM
Live Kreation is just purely awesome. Live footage from Sao Paulo, North America, Germany, South Korea, Brazil, basically just Kreator playing a lot of their older stuff and some songs like The Patriarch, Violent Revolution, Reconquering The Throne, and then Servant in Heaven, King in Hell off of Violent Revolution.
Here's their entire set list of footage they got on the DVD:
The Patriarch
Violent Revolution
Reconquering the Throne
Extreme Aggression
People of the Lie
Lost
Coma of Souls
All of the same blood
Phobia
Black Sunrise
Pleasure to Kill
Renewal
Servant in Heaven, King in Hell
Terrible Certainty
Riot of Violence
Terrorzone
Betrayer
Bonus Footage:
Flag of Hate
Tormentor
Special Features:
History (1982-2001)
Includes videos such as Toxic Trace, Betrayer, People of the Lie, and a lot more.
Comes with a Discography and Merchandise viewer, and you can connect online if your PC has a DVD-ROM drive.
So far, for 19 bucks, you can a lot for your money. I strongly suggest getting the Expanded Edition with the DVD, Poster, and 2 Disc Set because that would be the ultimate glory. The CD is the same as the DVD (I'm sure it is) and you get a free poster too. I wish I got that :( but the DVD still kicks major *** :D

I've found Annihilator, Kreator, Anvil, Sodom, Kreator, Possessed, Sepultura (old stuff), Exhorder, Slayer, Destruction, Exodus and Testament all here. However, I've noticed a lot of the underrated thrash is untouched, and I was lucky that I could find Extreme Aggression. I was so ****ing shocked to find it at Tower, because I was like "meh...not going to find anything...but then I found it :smoke:
JMetallica, good luck with getting ahold of Extreme Aggression. You won't be disappointed when you get it. I was playing Extreme Aggressions on my guitar earlier...I need more practice on it but I can get it good if I can find time to get a tab and avoid the stress.

Get it. It's a pretty awesome CD song writing is still similar to their old material, but the production is a lot different. It kind of sounds like Exodus' new one if you have heard that. Gone is that raw, menacing tone, replaced with an entirely beefy one. It's good, i definitely wouldn't pass it up for used prices.

East Coast thrash? West coast? German?
Any thrash will do, but I definitely love extreme and German thrash.
Here's my list so far of what I own:
My thrash metal CD collection:
Sepultura - Schizophrenia
Sepultura - Arise
Metallica - Kill 'Em All
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Metallica - ...And Justice For All
Testament - The Legacy
Testament - The New Order
Testament - Practice What You Preach
Testament - Low
Kreator - Terrible Certainty
Kreator - Extreme Aggression
Kreator - Coma of Souls
Kreator - Violent Revolution
Slayer - Reign In Blood
Slayer - Seasons in The Abyss
Slayer - Decade of Aggression : Live (2CD)
Megadeth - Killing Is My Business...and Business is GOOD!
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Megadeth - The System Has Failed
Exodus - Bonded By Blood
Exodus - Fabulous Disaster
Exodus - Tempo of the ****ed
Annihilator - Set The World on Fire
Annihilator - In Command (Live 1989-1990)
Annihilator - The Best of Annihilator
Destruction - Metal Discharge
Sodom - Code Red
Sodom - One Night In Bangkok (2CD Live Set)
I need to expand some more on:
Sodom
Destruction
Slayer (still undecided on which album to get next)
Megadeth (Not sure which album to get next)
Exodus (Was aiming for Another Lesson In Violence)
Annihilator (one more good CD would do the trick)
I already know I want to get Morbid Visions and Beneath The Remains to fix the Sepultura collection, and I know I need some Possessed, Dark Angel, and more but I don't know where to actually go.
I was given a list of artists by another fellow thrasher to go by. I'm thinking of getting some Exhorder if I can.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, let me be the first to perscribe you some thrash! :D
Sodom: If you liked Code Red, M-16 is similar and overall a lot better. The live CD has a lot of tracks from that album so perhaps it isn't a NEED for the moment. I'd Probably suggest you get Agent Orange or Persecution Mania. Both Classic Sodom Thrash.
Destruction: Get Infernal Overkill first. I say this because its widely accepted as their 'classic album' and it has been re-released with Sentance Of Death EP, my personal Favourite destruction Release. Also get Anti-Christ, it's fairly awesome.
Slayer (still undecided on which album to get next): Get Show No Mercy. End Of Story. It is by far my most favourite Slayer CD. It sounds fairly speed metally, as it has lots of awesome leads throughout but also some primitive thrash riffs. Excellent album, and for 1983/84 it kicks mega-arse!
Megadeth (Not sure which album to get next): Going against popular opinion, i'd say pick up So Far So Good... So What. It's my favourite release by the 'deth boys. Get Peace Sells but whos buying about 2 days later, as both are kind of similar, i just perfer SFSGSW more. They sound more like Killing... more than RIP, so if you liked the debut, you'll enjoy those ones more.
Exodus (Was aiming for Another Lesson In Violence): Eh, i'd wait until i had the above albums, you pretty much have the worthwhile Exodus releases.
Annihilator (one more good CD would do the trick): Same deal here. Get the Sodom, Destruction, Slayer and Megadeth first and then pick up Alice In Hell. Again, it's their classic album.
AWesomeness :thumb:

However, that's why I should get a job and buy them slowly each at a time, and use the sites such as CDNOW and Amazon. I've bought CDs from Amazon and they're very reliable.
I'll just take it slow and easy when it comes to buying the new CDs. Don't hope to get all, but at least a majority of it. I'm still going to try to get some Dark Angel if I am lucky enough.

I usually get my CDs new from either Tower or FYE. So far, Tower has been a great supplier for my CDs, and sometimes Best Buy. FYE has a better metal selection than Tower, but I still have trouble finding certain bands.
If all else fails, I check Amazon or CDNOW. They seem to always have what I'm looking for. Plus the guides people put together are some good resources to help open the door for new artists I do not know.

Very true, where i live there is quite a good selection of metal but hardly enough thrash to keep me satisfied so, like you i resorted to Amazon and since July i must have spent, well I don't even wanna think about how much, not a ridiculous amount but enough to make a big impact on the bank balance.

Hell...for 14 bucks, that is a good deal. I might buy it if I can find an another few copies because the one at my local Tower has like only 1, and I don't have the cash to get it now. Now when I do get it, the only problem will be that I better not make it obvious to my parents when I come home with it. Not like I'm a religious fanatic, just that my parents are somewhat religious, but I don't know how they would react if they saw the inverted cross. They know I listen to Slayer and all the heavy stuff, but they never said anything about it.
All I can do is just say that it's only music and that I'm smart enough not to do a stupid thing like sacrafice a female virgin in the name of Satan...that's just idiotic because if you let the music get to your head, that's being really ignorant. Then people blame the band for it.
People should realize the band doesn't push anyone to do anything, and that it's only just a theme and base for the song/album/or even band.

There was jackas.s who kept touching me and rubbing on to me during Killswitch. Mastodon was pretty good actually, and Dry Kill Logic blew. I wanted to do that to the second stage bands at Ozzfest XD
Anyways, I was trying to record this thrash tune I made up but for some reason, my amp sounds really low when I hit playback. I think I need a directional microphone from Radioshack because Radioshack has these mics that are shaped almost like a square at an angle on the top, so it can pick up sounds in a better direction I guess.
I still need to fix the riff a bit because I was just testing my Cakewalk when I wrote it. Anyone have suggestions how I should try modeling it after?

I was browsing around Destruction's site, and I was totally unaware that they had an entire Live DVD/Live CD titled "Live Discharge". 4 hours of Destruction! (plus extra features, clips, and a History of the band with some 80s footage XD)
Then I found "Get Thrashed...", the documentary on the history of Thrash Metal due out sometime this Fall, but I'm not sure when. I saw the trailer, and I am going to keep my eye open for it, because this is one thing I can't miss.
Anyone know about the Sodom Live DVD said to come out? I've checked their site and so far, nothing planned, although my "One Night In Bangkok" CD came with a live videoclip for "Among The Weirdcong".
Anyways, I'm just hyped to find the Destruction DVD, awaiting "Get Thrashed", and I guess that's it...
Edit: EDIT: The U.S. Version of "Live Discharge" does not contain the Live CD. Supposedly in the trailers, there was a HUGE mix up between the European version and U.S./Canada Version, but so far, many owners of the DVD recommend it, even if there is no Live CD to go with it.

2 people with the correct answer. I have to admit I went to Thrash Zone because after my accident in manufacturing, I've been sort of stupid and "empty" when it comes to recalling stuff.

Well, my best suggestion is to always check the USED bins first. If all else fails, go for "Terrible Certainty, Extreme Aggression, Coma of Souls", and I guess everyone would suggest Pleasure To Kill over Endless Pain.
I do recommend the first three I suggested. I have all 3, got them for about 12-14 bucks from Tower. I found Coma of Souls on iTunes, but if you get it brand new, it's about $12.99. Definitely a good deal.
sensitiveorgan00
11-15-2004, 08:48 PM
Man, teh Tower Records at your location is pretty cheap. Granted, I never looked for Kreator when I was shopping Tower Records (in NYC). However, teh prices for a cd were usually like $18.
RavenousMetalist87
11-15-2004, 08:56 PM
Most of the old thrash that wasn't like exploited and popular is lower priced. Now, I've seen Sepultura CDs and Slayer CDs for almost as much as 18.99! Outrageous, but I was glad to snag some Destruction, Kreator and Exodus for low prices. I've been looking for some Coroner, Dark Angel, and Possessed too. My location has "Seven Churches", but I'm just waiting (which is bad XD) to get some more cash so I don't go broke. I wanted to get that with some more CDs. I found Sodom's Code Red for 13.99 at Tower, but One Night In Bangkok cost more x_x.
Still, I get my money's worth, thanks to the wonderful "Sound Samples" I have access to :D

IT sounds very Coma Of Souls with a modern Violent Revolution touch to it. There is a lot more brutality than VR and the mindless, boring melodic inturludes have all but been taken out. Like CC said, there are *some* Slayer-isms, especially in the lead department, but it sounds like a Kreator album, not slayer. The Riffin' is bitchin', the drumming is brutal but not over baring, Millies vocals are the same as they've been since 1987. On a whole, it is an unrelenting Kreator album. It is truely excellent.

Third thread down. :D
Yeah, kind of coincidental you mention Artillery... I was in town today kind of fooling around doing nothing much inparticular. And i was hesitating whether or not to check out the old second hand storse. Usually they have ****e, buut... I walked into cash converters and they had: Artillery - By Inheritance ($5), Forbidden - Forbidden Evil ($8), Motely Crue - Motley Crue ($5), Anacrusis - Manic Impressions ($5) and Suicidal Tendincies - Suicidal For Life ($5). I know for a fact that the Artillery and Anacrusis are OOP and the Forbidden probably is too. A **** good pick up for a second hand store. Hell, it would have been a pretty good haul for a new store.
Awesome. And yeah, i hope Artillery make a new album. They said they called it quits for good after BACK, but who knows what the future holds? Perhaps a R.E.B.A.C.K. album? Perhaps not.
And and yeah, im pretty sure that the skinlab singer is just a fill in. It would be exodus-suicide to name him the full time singer, although again, stranger things have happened.

The show is called KinderKanal with a very fortunate capitilised K. ****, even with the K there is sounds very iffy. Kinder and anal in the same word? Nup, it shouldn't be.
