Is the Milano Mosh an actual style of moshing?
  no it's an S.O.D. song.
Does anyone agree with me that with the Titans being at 130 pages mabye we should make a new thread like the death heads?
Nah, man, that's part of its appeal: making it the longest thread on MX. It's got history to it!

The makers of "Get Thrashed", the upcoming documentary profiling the thrash metal scene of the early Eighties and its impact on the music scene, have posted two more preview clips via www.GetThrashed.com (in the "Media" section). The first clip features VIO-LENCE frontman Sean Killian discussing the "purity" of thrash while the second clip includes several guest appearances discussing the San Francisco club scene in the early days of the thrash movement.
As previously reported, filming for "Get Thrashed" was recently completed and the show is currently being edited. Post-production should be completed this fall, with an air date and location to follow soon after.
"Get Thrashed", the brainchild of director Rick Ernst, a longtime freelance producer for MTV, will include interviews with METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, EXODUS, GODSMACK, DISTURBED, SEVENDUST, TESTAMENT, OVERKILL, DEATH ANGEL, SHADOWS FALL, MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, STONE SOUR, SUPERJOINT RITUAL, LAMB OF GOD, VIO-LENCE, KREATOR, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, VOIVOD, CHIMAIRA, BIOHAZARD, FOZZY singer/WWE superstar Chris Jericho, SEPULTURA, KITTIE, THE HAUNTED, D.R.I., SOILWORK, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, HEATHEN, Brian Slagel, Jon & Marsha Zazula, authors Ian Christe ("Sound of the Beast") and Steven Blush ("American Hardcore"), NY metal radio DJ Eddie Trunk, "Radio Rampage"'s Ron Quintana, as well as unsigned thrash bands OSMIUM, CONCRETE COFFIN and VISCID.

As for Xentrix, you can order their albums from Roadrunner I think, or at least try some other place. As for the new Megadeth, I'm not gonna go downloading anything. I'll buy it, cause you see what happened with St. Anger....loads of songs that were "supposed" to be on that album never turned up, so I wouldn't trust the internet.

if so get yourself down to Thrash Domination:
FLOTSAM AND JETSAM Added To 'Thrash Domination' Japanese Tour
FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have been added to the upcoming "Thrash Domination 04" Japanese tour in September, according to a posting on the band's web site. Joining FLOTSAM AND JETSAM on the bill will be TESTAMENT, OVERKILL and DEATH ANGEL. Confirmed dates are as follows:
Sep. 24 - Osaka, JPN @ Namba Hatch
Sep. 25 - Tokyo, JPN @ Club Citta
Sep. 26 - Tokyo, JPN @ Club Citta
FLOTSAM AND JETSAM are currently writing material for their Crash Music Inc. debut and are tentatively planning on entering the studio in August for an early 2005 release. The new material is described by drummer Craig Nielsen as "leaps and bounds heavier than the last four records combined, definitely a return to the bands roots but still with some ambient surprises that break up all the speed riffing. There seems to be an inspired vibe going on in the writing process that is taking on a life of its own."

Voivod ain't French and they are a decent band if you ask me. They're French-Canadian if anything....their latest album (With Jason) is pretty good and their first few were ace.
The best thing about the Megadeth reissues is the fact that the un remastered versions will come down about 50% in price :D
When Raw Power was remixed, I gave it one listen and turned away. I didn't like it cleaned up. To me, the record IS its crappy sound and anything else wouldn't do. So, meh.

The Dutch band Crustacen was formed back in 1989 under the name Crystal Lake, with the name change taking place in the mid-nineties, along with a slight style change away from pure death metal towards Slayer-esque thrash (some of the members also play in a Slayer cover band). Insaniac, the band's most recent album, is a whirlwind of deathy thrash, or perhaps thrashy death, with Tom's vocals being more of the old-school thrash variety (bringing to mind the late Paul Baloff of Exodus at times, while the riffs are dirtier, more along the lines of traditional death metal, though clear thrash influences can be found here as well. The songs are short and to the point, with little variance in pace, but it's a fun ride. Insaniac is a strong thrash album, and Crustacean may well have a bright future in front of them.
Now i havent heard anything from them neither can i find a site of theres or a place to find a sample of there work but from that they sound alright anyone else heard of them? They released an album in 2003 so there must be somewhere that has some Crustacen.

Yes I'm the singer, the bass solo is partially my own and I 'borrowed' the primus cover of Master of Puppets. As for the scream, I don't hit the high part, but I do do the scream like he does it live, now.
manuscriptreplica
07-14-2004, 02:27 PM
Lol, that scream sucks when he does it live now. You expect this high pitch scream, and all you get is this "UUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHRAGHRAGHHHAR H!!!!"
I can occasionally get there, but I am of large proportions (6'6) so when I do get there, it is extremely falsetto, and as a result, sounds quite bad.

I don't think his age or ability effects it... just the fact that it's cheesy. I'd think he just generally doesn't want to do that scream anymore...

Getting past that **** production, though. There do exists albums that crunch AND have the songwriting of AJFA. Blood good record still.
but you gotta admit, AJFAs definatly metallica most thrash album, its their angry album after cliff died and you can really hear the agression in it.
songs like blackened, dyers eve and frayed ends of sanity are great examples.
And plus, it has so many of metallicas best songs on it.

CRYPTOPSY's first two albums — 1994's "Blasphemy Made Flesh" and 1995's "None So Vile" — have been released on vinyl in a two-LP gatefold package that is limited to 1,000 copies worldwide. Copies are available for $18 postpaid in the U.S. and Canada from www.emeticrecords.com.
CRYPTOPSY are expected to enter Wild Studio in St-Zenon, Quebec later in the year with producer Pierre Remillard ("None So Vile", "Whisper Supremacy", "And Then You'll Beg", "None So Live") to begin recording their new album, tentatively due in early 2005.

talking about toms voice, my favourite moment in a slayer song (as in the vocals) is either the first few lines of south of heaven when he sings:
"An unforseen future nestled somewhere in time, unsuspecting victims no warning no time. Judgement day the second coming arrives. Before you see the light, YOU MUST DIE!!!"
or the first bit in criminally insane when he sings :
"Night will come and i will follow, all my victims no tommorow, make it fast through time of sorrow, along this trail, ill make you FOLLOW!"
i still remeber the first time i heard both, especially the line in south of heaven, i remember grinning and thinking 'slayer ****ing rule!'

yea i heard that jason wrote all these complex basslines for songs like one, its a shame you cant hear any of them.
if the bass was there im sure everyone would agreed the justice album is metallicas best.
never liked kill em all nearly as much as RTL MOP and AJFA, it just sounded a bit ammatuerish, however you spell it, but you're right it was very thrashy.
couldnt metallica like remaster the album and rewcord new basslines and mix them in or something? is that possible?

SLAYER fan site Slayer Saves has posted a review of the group's July 11 show in Augusta, Maine, which was filmed for an upcoming live DVD, entitled "Reign in Blood Live: Still Reigning". As previously reported, the disc will feature a full performance of the 1986 album "Reign in Blood" by all original members of the veteran thrash metal outfit. The DVD, due on September 28, will have an approximate 75-minute running time and will retail for $14.98. An excerpt from the Slayer Saves review follows:
"The band took a short encore pause from 'Angel of Death' to 'Piece by Piece', same as they did on the Jager tour. Blood rained from the lighting rig upon the beginning of 'Raining Blood' soaking Tom and bloodying Kerry (Jeff avoided the bulk of the blood). The only adverse result of the blood was it killed the sound of Dave's cymbals for the end of the song when once again it poured blood soaking everything including the drums. The effect was quite striking and the crowd was blown away. A blood soaked Tom addressed the cheering crowd with a sneering smile and the words 'We'll see you in HELL.' Comments from people leaving the venue were positive and I think the show was received extremely well. The blood effect was amazing and worth every penny alone."
Set list from the shoot:
01. Disciple
02. War Ensemble
03. Hallowed Point

BLABBERMOUTH.NET has obtained a copy of the 38-page complaint filed by former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson against the group's leader, David Mustaine, alleging the singer shortchanged him on profits and backed out of a deal to turn Megadeth Inc. over to him when the band broke up in 2002. Ellefson also accuses Mustaine of locking him out of merchandise and publishing royalties. Ellefson is seeking $18.5 million from Mustaine, including $10 million in punitive damages stemming from Mustaine's "libelous statements" on MEGADETH's web site "falsely accusing" Ellefson of trying to "extort" Mustaine in order to appear on the new MEGADETH record. An unfinished mock-up of the new MEGADETH album cover, "The System Has Failed", has been posted online at this location. The artwork is being conceived by Tempe, Arizona-based artist Mike Learn, who has chosen to do the art on the medium he is known for — sheet metal. The piece is being created on a 64"-by-36" piece of 16-gauge steel.
"The System Has Failed", the tenth studio album released under the MEGADETH banner, is set for release September 14 on Sanctuary Records. The CD was recorded at Phase Four studios in Tempe, Arizona and features mainman Dave Mustaine alongside drummer Vinnie Colaiuta and bassist Jimmy Sloas. Additional lead guitar tracks were laid down by former MEGADETH guitarist Chris Poland.
Commented Mustaine: "I took a real casual pace with this album. We started out working about three hours a night, four days a week. I know this is such a cliché, but it was like being reborn. I don't have three other guys that I'm gonna disappoint if I don't listen to their stuff. I was in there calling the shots and it was a lot like when (the band's first two albums) 'Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!' and 'Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?' first came out. It was me making my music, I had guys in the band listening to me, and I was the boss."
With regards to Poland's contributions, Mustaine said, "It was so much fun having Chris come down and play. He's a great person and there's a reason why we took a fork in the road back then. When he came in and listened to this record, I didn't know what to expect from him. I didn't know if he was gonna listen and say, 'I'm not digging this,' or whatever, because he's all into his jazz-fusion stuff. But he gave me a really great compliment, because he said somewhere, 'some of you guys are gonna have to break out your slide rulers, because this is definitely 'Rust In Peace'-type music.'
1990's "Rust In Peace", MEGADETH's fourth album and possibly most successful after 1992's "Countdown To Extinction" (which charted at Number Two on The Billboard 200 album chart), is held by many fans as the gold standard against which all MEGADETH releases are judged, for its heaviness, intricacy, and tunefulness. "Everybody's wanted me to make 'Rust In Peace 2', and I don't think I did," said Mustaine. "But I think what I did was make an album that was a natural progression from 'Rust In Peace'."
"The System Has Failed" will be MEGADETH's first album since the announcement that Mustaine was disbanding the group following a serious accident in early 2002. At the time, it was unknown if severe nerve damage in his left arm would leave him able to perform again.
Hang on about 2weeks ago it was annoced Menza was back in the band, looks good though

Ozzy/Black Sabbath
Steve Vai
but these do change a lot
It's annoying as everyone in my school (im 14 so im still at school) like feckin emo and linkin park and bull **** but im into a lot heavier stuff

So uh.. thrash.. let's see, while... I'm still stuck on the likes of Razor, Exciter and Infernal Majesty. Getting ready for the show on Saturday!!

Nice selection. I got into Cat Stevens when I took a bunch of his LPs from the garbage after a fundraising record fair at my school. Some parents getting rid of em - crazy! What's your favourite Cat Stevens album? I find him to only have one great one - Teaser and the Firecat - but that's more than most bands/artists have to offer.
I never did this....probably should. I'm really enjoying Therion's latest two records, Blut Aus Nord and Eyehategod at the moment. So, no thrash there, but I just like the bigness of the thread: so let's keep it alive.

1. don't make triple posts
2. i don't think so. it hast the name the system has failed and someone had the idea to put a few presidents on the cover
EDIT: so i searched dark angel cd's on ebay and i found this: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1574&item=4024226082&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

heh, well, killing.. wasn't political. But it slowly built up. Countdown and Rust.. were both political to the nth degree. Past that, it kind of gets a little implicit.
But yeah, perhaps dave isn't annoyed at governments and the like. If that's the case it will more than likely be dealing with politics on the personal level, and how people 'have hurt him deep' and such...
Lmao, does anyone else see dave as a little cry baby?

Sure have. I hear of all Thrash from the UK! have to be loyal to your country. Mind you since I came over here I've got into Hobbs Angel Of Death and Mortal Sin....both bad *** bands.
As for Slammer, they are good, but I'd still pick Xentrix and Sabbat over 'em. Acid Reign are another pretty decent English thrash band.....most of the members went onto Cathedral.

Strange neither could I find it on soulseek. Though I could find a gloating review of it on metalreviews.com last week. Gave it CLASSIC status which is a pretty special thing (puts it in the same league as Vulger Display of Power which is one of my favourite metal records ever.)

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has released the following statement via the group's official web site:
"Lars and Skylar Ulrich are getting divorced after seven years of marriage. The couple has been quietly separated since March. They will share custody of their two children."
Ulrich's statement is believed to have been issued in response to The New York Post article linking the drummer to Danish actress Connie Nielsen. Nielsen (photos)http://www.wireimage.com/GalleryListing.asp?navtyp=GLS====61152&c4nvi=3&str=827&styp=clbi, who played opposite Russell Crowe in "Gladiator", recently split with Huey, the lead singer of one-hit wonders FUN LOVIN' CRIMINALS.
