The five members of the Mahavishnu Orchestra are from all different parts of the world. The sound of Inner Mounting Flame is beyond Jazz fused with Rock, but there are some influences from folk music around the world.
The guitarist is the best I've ever heard. He adds superfast guitar lines on his double neck guitar.
The violinist adds a sense of folk from around the world to the music.
The bassist, pianist, and drummer the rhythm instruments, back up the two leads very well. Rhe pianist and bassist play contemporary jazz while the drummer is playing rock rhythms with great feel.
My personal favorite song on the CD even though they are all amazing is Dawn.
This album is great and I recommend it to everyone and especially to guitarists, violinists, and drummers for the inspiration from the awesome players on the album. The sound of fusion is amazing and this album is a must have if you like fusion and if you are not familiar with fusion this is the one to buy to get into fusion.
