Yes-Relayer
First off, this is one of the best albums I've ever heard.
Gates of Delirium: This is the longest song on the album, a little over 20 minutes. It's also the best. The song is about war and battle, and features a loud battle between the drums and keyboards. After the huge instrumental sequence in the middle, Jon Anderson's vocals come back in, and it's amazing and moving. Great song.
Sound Chaser: This is a very interesting, unusual song. Everyone in the band shows off their skill on this track, and it works together to create a psychadelic masterpeice. The whole thing is very abstract, and I really love the guitar playing. At 2 points in the song all the instruments drop out and it's Jon Anderson going: Cha Cha Cha....It's a great moment in a great song. This track is almost 10 minutes long.
To Be Over: Yes really outdid themselves here. This is a beatiful ballad, very soft and emotional at the beginning, then in the middle there's a huge instrumental jam, fast-paced and rockin'. Then it comes back with the balladry and the song ends with the same gentleness that it started with, and so ends an excellent album. This song is also nearly 10 minutes.
I haven't heard anything from Yes except for this album, but from what I've heard, this is the high point of prog rock. I would definitely give it a 5/5, and I look forward to hearing more from this band.
