Everyone says grunge died off after Cobain died no way its there just waiting for the public cry for something big there are so many people out there just waiting. Grunge is everywhere and if it werent for grunge we would all be in drag glam rock would be everywhere yuck. thats why only the true talent of the 80's survived:lol:
any opinions:confused:

You do realize that 75% of the bands on that poll is either dead or broken up?

i voted alice in chains, even though i really consider them metal. they got dragged into the grunge scene. nirvana were overrated. soundgarden were good, but not memorable. mudhoney were mediocre. also, pearl jam were great. what about mother love bone and meat puppets? they deserve credit for practically inventing grunge.

Nirvana was the only band that was ever really grunge.
Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, etc. sound absolutely nothing like Nirvana and have very prominent guitar work. The rest of the bands that got lumped in with the grunge scene are either just rock or metal.

I think Soundgarden's "Superunknown" is a phenomenal album. Then again, it wasn't really "grunge"...

The only thing Kurt Cobain really did for rock was show that you can play sloppily/be a ****ty guitarist and still be in a band.

Who cares what style of music something is? if it kicks *** it kicks *** and if it doesn't it doesn't. if some really good band played grunge now i would still like them despite the fact that grunge is dead.

Alice in Chains all the way!!!!!!!I have crazy respect for all those bands but im not a huge fan of Mud Honey, they are talented, i just never got into them.
Green River and Mother Love Bone kik a$$, Tad......they were ok.
Anyone hear of Sweet Water?.....not the classic rock band, the "grunge" band back in the 80's. they were pretty good too...esp their guitarist....the band he is in now rocks!

the way things are going...with the 'punk' music on the radio, they'll hop over to the 90's and try to play whatever they think 'grunge' is, was, or never was, and do a poor showing of it.

Jerry Cantrell (which I'm listening to at the moment) is still around...
