SRV's strings.

Just wanting to know if anyone knows what gauge and brand strings Stevie Ray Vaughan used. Because if you listen to jis version of Little Wing, those strings sound great.

I don't know his brand but he used .12s or .13s.

He used .13s, not sure which brand though. And im also pretty sure that no matter what brand he used he would have sounded awesome, he was the man.

i'm pretty sure either uses d'addario's or ernie ball slinkys; the sizes that the folk above mentioned is correct. I'll follow up on the brand though.

In my Stevie Ray Vaughan songbook "lightning Blues" it said this about his strings:
"He used GHS strings, usually starting at .012 down to .058"

those .13s must have caned his fingers he only usually tuned down a 1/2 step

13.s were practically light gauge strings for SRV. In an interview he says that sometimes he used .14s or 16.s.
