Rabbit Junk have always been an eccentric band. They’ve been known to mix anything from industrial and black metal to hip hop and hardcore, and this song is no different. “What Doesn’t Kill You Will Make You a Killer” is the first single from the band’s upcoming album (currently untitled). It features the return of the more fun, tongue-in-cheek Rabbit Junk and also the return of Sum Grrl. The song itself is really two parts — the hip hop influenced beginning and the metalish second half. Oh, and the video is pretty cool too.

Another awesome Rabbit Junk song.

No surprises as to who posted this

Ha ha. Fair enough. You like Rabbit Junk; don't you?

Aside from this, no. Wasn't bad though

Video made me uncomfortable...

These guys release shit frequently. Wish Cyanotic was like that...I'm psyched to see what they come out with next.

Willie
08.24.11
Ok. So we've established that the other staff members wouldn't post something about an industrial band... good detective work, guys!

@Emim: ha ha... that is all.

Damn this video IS kinda scary.

Song is good, but I feel it sounds awfully familiar to many other songs I've heard before.

Willie
08.24.11
It takes some established styles and kind of gives them the Rabbit Junk twist. The beginning reminds me of a specific hip hop song that I just can't name and the second part reminds me of some of the better, grittier Marilyn Manson -- but both sections are definitely run through the Rabbit Junk filter.

Emim

I did love the song, though. I thought grrl's parts were more tastefully done.

Is it bad I see that rabbit every time I close my eyes?

bloc
08.24.11
Yeah I was totally thinking of MM at the end too. The beginning is still stuck with me. But anyway, it's definitely the vocals that tell you the song's classic Rabbit Junk.

Willie
08.24.11
I love most of grrl's parts and always kind of saw her as the Flavor Flav to JP's Chuck D -- so her parts were supposed to be kind of 'distasteful' from time to time, I thought.

That rabbit... ha ha... creepy shit.

Emim
08.24.11
That immediately brings to mind:

FEELS GOOD FEELS GOOD TO BE A GANGSTER

Which is a sick song.

Why is William talking about hip-hop all of a sudden...I'm scared....

Willie
08.24.11
What song is that?

Emim
08.24.11
Ghetto Blasphemer from their This Life is Where You Get Fucked album. That song seems to be the inspiration to the more dm-influenced stuff in the last album.

Willie
08.24.11
I'm a little lost as to what you're comparing to Ghetto Blasphemer, but I just re-listened to that song and I think I'm lost.

Emim

Comparing this song:

With this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SIox6Z81Fw (Revenge of Julian Modely)

And I was pointing out that in Ghetto, grrl's part is kind of annoying and distasteful, and that's why I love it.

Willie
08.24.11
I can see that comparison. I thought you were comparing Blasphemer to this song...

That's the same reason I like her vocals ;)

Emim
08.24.11
Ha ha, no. I prefer this style for them.

This one is free though? I may have to dabble...

Willie
08.24.11
I think I do, too. He can keep the heavier stuff for The Shizit.

Yeah, this and one other song is free. There is a link under the video.

Emim
08.24.11
Yeah, I just saw the link after I posted. How's the other song?

And have you heard if Shizit has any new stuff planned?

Willie
08.24.11
The other song is good too. They're both more in the vein of the ReFrame album, which is a good thing.

The Shizit is probably over, actually. The last album that was released free actually had to have its name changed to "The Named" because the ex-Shizit member threatened legal action or some shit... so The Shizit as a name is probably over, but I'm sure he'll make more music like that and just release it under a new name (or maybe keep The Named as the new band name).

Emim
08.24.11
Oh yeah, I remember that now. Maybe it's for the better, as the stuff that guy was involved in wasn't nearly as good.

JP seems to release a LOT of music.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Going to listen to it now :D

This was great Willie, an excellent way to end my night! The video was tastefully creepy, I'd pay to have a RJ bunny doll from this. Even though you mentioned the two style aspect of this I really found the flow of the track to be quite good, catchy even.

Videeo looks pretty awesome.

Lyrics were pretty cool too, I thought.

It's abstract.

Oh this is free too -> http://www.glitchmode.com/rabbit-junk/ or pay what you think it's worth.

Willie

That link is directly under the video ;)

Acanthus

lol well sorry sir, I needn't never doubt your J.P. Anderson skills!

Outnumbered

Wait... this isn't bad.

Acanthus

Dude this track (and the other) is great, sans all of Rabbit Junk's material

Outnumbered

I downloaded the two singles, where can I get their other stuff? Maybe I'll like it.

Acanthus
08.28.11
Willie would know where better than I would tbh, I'd shoot him a shoutbox; he's the unofficial Rabbit Junkj guru.

Outnumbered
08.28.11
Alright. Thanks!

Willie
08.30.11
Yeah. Let me get back to you, because I'm not really sure if it's out there in any legal capacity to just download and/or stream.

Emim
08.30.11
I'm pretty sure it's all up on iTunes, or at least I thought I saw it on there.

JP seems to prefer releasing free stuff, though.

Willie
08.30.11
All the albums are on spotify, too.

@Emim: I think he wanted to just stream/download them like he did these first two songs. iTunes is just 30 second samples (90 seconds now?).

Willie
08.30.11
Ok, here are six songs from the Project Nonagon album:

http://www.rabbitjunk.com/nonagon/nonagon.htm

Here is the latest album from his other project, The Shizit (now called The Named):

http://www.lunaticfringe.org/~schizoid/dtrashrecords/digitaldownloads/digitaldownload.php?ID=DTRASH138

Emim
08.30.11
Ah, yes. I just didn't know if stuff like Reframe was released free.

The last part of Nonagon was purchase only, right?

Willie
08.30.11
As far as I know.

Emim
08.30.11
I have no idea how I got it, cause I only ever got the free d/l sections. U Lock Justice is a sick song.

Willie
08.30.11
That song is one of the best on the album.

Emim
08.30.11
I really liked the ambiance and story that the three middle songs have. The first three didn't really strike me very much.

Willie
08.30.11
I liked the first two songs, but they seemed more like Shizit songs than Rabbit Junk.
