Cyanotic are one of the new breed of industrial metal bands that are helping to pull the genre into the modern era. The song, “Dissonant Dissident”, comes from their second  album entitled The Medication Generation. The Medication Generation was released through Bit Riot records on July 6, 2010. “Dissonant Dissident” is probably one of the best songs on the album, and also a great representation of what to expect. It features huge beats and a perfect blend of guitars and electronics.

This should appeal to anyone that is into industrial metal. I'm trying to get myself to actually review the album, but just can't seem to concentrate long enough.

Yes.
Absolutely one of the best songs of the year.

Willie

Yeah, it definitely is. Monochrome Skies is awesome too.

Yo Willie, you should look into Deathstep. It's a relatively new genre blending death metal and dubstep. It's pretty much awesome.

Not anything special in my opinion. Just another industrial metal band that focuses on this old tired sound.

Ventana needs to write a new album

Willie

@Zip: Are there any particular bands?

@greg: And what would you consider "special" industrial?

greg84

Well. Lastly I liked the new Fear Factory record. As for industrial rock Hourcast's last album Dystopia is really good.

lol Deathstep

yeah industrial has pretty much been in an endless cycle of mediocrity since the mid 90's or so

Zip

Look up Singaya and KeseK.

@greg: I was going through your ratings and I saw a lot of NIN (and 16Volt, they're cool), but you seem to be more into the rock/metal side of industrial so I wouldn't expect you to like this.

@meatplow: Can't deny that, but these guys are doing it pretty well.

Meatplow

nah

nowadays you'll find the odd gem but the scene is dominated by some of the blandest EBM and industrial metal acts on the planet

its hey-day in the 80's and early 90's is some of the best music i've ever listened to but theres rarely anything to get particularly excited about now. gotta give it to Willie though, he seems to unearth the best of it

Unless you mean Deathstep

Drek Kick is way better!

Willie
07.11.10
Yeah well Drek Kick has the guy from Rabbit Junk/The Shizit on it, so of course it's awesome.

...And Oceans last two albums A.M.G.O.D and Cypher are probably my favorite industrial albums. Perfect blend of genres.

There's a movie called Waiting, that's where the "most people have to pay for that....." line comes from

Willie
07.13.10
Oh cool. Have you ever seen Altered States? Great drug movie. The guy does acid until he finally becomes some sort of primordial monkey. -- Anyway, what did you think of the song?

Deviant.
07.13.10
Tbh it was okay, the vocals kinda threw me off though. The song kinda picked up around the 3 minute mark

Yeah, Altered States is great movie. Waiting isn't a drug film though, just a comedy
