Ok, so who kidnapped Tera Melos?  Not too long ago, the ever-rambunctious group release their debut album, which was filled with spastic riffs and wavering time signatures.  Since then, their progression had been somewhat obvious, or at least not a complete transformation, like the one that you are about to hear.  Perhaps they were influence by Idioms Vol. I in the sense that they enjoyed playing tracks that have defined structures and hooks.  At any rate, in the coming months (September 7th to be exact), Tera Melos will release Patagonian Rats, and if “Frozen Zoo” is any indication of what is to come, Patagonian Rats will be a sonic-pop experience that will certainly show how far Tera Melos can push their experimental rock boundaries.

It took me two listens for this to sink in, but I really like the track.

it's a single. the rest of the album will probably be much less conventional than this.

The song is good, regardless of whether it has a conventional song structure.

i already said it was good CHUMP. i'm just mentioning that because the lack of technicality and mathy tendancies is what is going to turn a lot of people off with this song.

Ya this is a great song. Assuming the rest of the album is in this vein, we'll all be bummed we don't get insane math whatever, but we'll all be pumped to have a great album.

i was hoping they'd go more post-rock-y rather than pop, not digging this song at all

I hella dig the new song. It was a little shocking to hear them play in a conventional way at first but after a few listens, i feel content. I'm sure the rest of the record will be golden...

this sure is different from self-titled (only one I listened to)

i like this, it's like trying out conventional rhythms for once. Whole album better not be like this though.

this song is ridiculously good. for a band that's been dabbling predominantly in the more experimental side of things, they pull off pop extremely well. i love the quirky twists they've put on it: the glissando bass groove, the ecclectic guitar effects and that little time shift in the build up just before the chorus.
