Thorr's Hammer is a drone metal outfit from Ballard, Washington that formed as a duo comprised of Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson during the mid-nineties. Soon after, the now infamous vocalist, Runhild Gammelsæter, then seventeen-year-old, female, Norwegian exchange student, joined the band on vocals. Jamie Sykes and James Hale joined soon after.
The band was only active for six weeks, a time which was spent around performing a few gigs and creating Dommedagsnatt, the band's demo and only release. After these six weeks, Gammelsæter returned to Oslo, Norway, and the band's members have formed such projects as Khlyst, Khanate, Sunn O))), and other notorious drone metal acts, akin to Thorr's vigorous dissonance.
