Zapp

Zapp was a funk/R&B band from Hamilton, Ohio. Formed in 1977, they were fronted by Roger Troutman, whose unique usage of the talkbox helped propel Zapp to stardom. In 1999, Zapp suddenly disbanded after the abrupt murder-suicide of Roger Troutman and brother Larry Troutman. In 2001, however, the remaining Troutman brothers revived Zapp, and the group went on to tour throughout that year. Zapp also released "Zapp VI: Back by Popular Demand", which was their first original album release since 1989's "Zapp Vibe". Zapp then toured for a few more years, until disappearing once more by 2004. In 2007, the group returned once more, and have been touring quite regularly since. They are also stated to be in the process of recording new material as well.
