“Danzetsu”, which was widely acclaimed for its melancholic, extremely strong sound. It has since been regarded as one of the

Inoue went on to garner vast mainstream success throughout the 1970’s, before hitting a commercial slump beginning in 1980
with his album “Every Night”, which only reached number 28 on the Oricon charts, a far cry from the huge success of his
previous album “Sneaker Dancer”, which was released just a year prior. This mediocre commercial success would continue
throughout the 1980’s, although he had his first major comeback in 1990 with his album “Handsome Boy” reaching number 2 on
the Oricon charts, which was his absolute biggest success in 11 years. He has maintained decent sales since, and has since been
regarded as one of Japan's most influential and successful songwriters in history. « hide |
