Veruca Salt is an American alternative rock group that formed in 1992. Hailing from Chicago, the group, named after acharacterfrom the Roald Dahlnovel "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", gained popularity in the 90s through hits such as"Seether" and"Volcano Girls": the former being successfulon MTV and the latter featuring in the teen movie "Jawbreaker". In1998, originalmember Nina Gordon left the group to pursue a solo career. In 2013, Veruca Salt was suddenly revived with the classic, original lineup in tact, and in 2015, the group released"GhostNotes", which was their firstoriginal full album under the Veruca Salt name in nine years. It proved to be their best-sellingrelease since 1997's "Eight Arms to Hold You", as itreached number 159 on the Billboard charts, number 11 on the USTopAlternative Albums chart and number 15 on the US Top Rock Albums chart. « hide |
