Named after a character from the Roald Dahl novel "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", Veruca Salt gained popularity in the 90s through hits such as "Seether" and "Volcano Girls", the former being successful on MTV and the latter featuring in the teen movie "Jawbreaker".
Formed in Chicago, the band first reached success with the release of their single "Seether"/"All Hail Me". Soon after, the group toured with Hole before releasing their debut album "American Thighs". Their popularity grew with their second release "Eight Arms to Hold You", even sharing the music act on television show Saturday Night Live with Sting.
In 1998, original member Nina Gordon left the group to pursue a solo career. With Louise Post the only remaining original member, a new roster was assembled, resulting in the release of "Resolver" in 2000. In 2005, with new band members on hand, the fourth album, "IV" was released but failed to make any impact on the music charts. « hide
