The Sea And Cake

The Sea & Cake are a foursome from Chicago. The band is often classified as post-rock, but they borrow influences from jazz, funk, and mainstream rock. Their music is extremely mellow and lazy, the band started out playing more upbeat jazz influenced songs but they gradually transformed their style into more melancholy and depressing music. The Sea & Cake have released six albums all on Thrill Jockey Records. The band doesn't receive much critical acclaim, and there is no stand out album but every album they release is excellent in its own way.
