The Roots

One of the few hip-hop acts to feature a live band as part of their permanent line-up, The Roots are oneof the most respected and acclaimed hip-hop acts of all time, and have enjoyed a surprising longevity -since their 1999 breakthrough Things Fall Apart, which was the band's fourth album, they haveconsistently troubled the upper echelons of the Billboard charts, while maintaining a seeminglyunbroken streak of glowing reviews. Since 2009, they have achieved further fame outside the hip-hopworld thanks to their long-running stint as the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
