The R.O.C. is a veteran among the Detroit horrorcore underground rap scene. Making his debut in the scene in 1992 with the release of the "Rollin' with Strength" EP, he then joined the cult horrorcore trio House of Krazees. When House of Krazees officially disbanded in 1997, The R.O.C. went on to a rather lackluster solo career, while the other two members of House of Krazees formed the breakthrough act, Twiztid. When House of Krazees officially disbanded in 1997, The R.O.C. went on to a rather lackluster solo career, while the other two members of House of Krazees formed the breakthrough act, Twiztid. In 1999, The R.O.C. attempted to revive House of Krazees with fellow emcee Skrapz, and released their "comeback" album, "The Night They Kame Home". The album sold horribly, and The R.O.C. and Skrapz would then form Halfbreed, which eventually disbanded as well in 2003.
After Halfbreed disbanded, The R.O.C. would then resume his solo career again full force, releasing his first original solo effort in 2005, "I'm Here", which was his first solo release in nearly a decade. He would release a full length album independently in 2006, the anticipated "Oh Hell No!", before signing to the Psychopathic Records sublabel Hatchet House in 2007, and releasing the EP "Welcome to the Dark Side", which had rave reviews in the underground rap circuit. In December of 2012, Twiztid left Psychopathic Records after 15 years, and started their own label Majik Ninja Entertainment, with The R.O.C. being one of their first signees. In April of 2017, The R.O.C. released his first full length album in over a decade, "Digital Voodoo", which was his best-selling release to date. « hide |
