The Farm

The Farm is an alternative rock band from Liverpool, England that first formed in 1981. Originally going by the name of The Excitements, the group changed their name to The Farm in early 1983, and soon developed a cult following for their melodious and brooding new wave sound. By 1990, the group drastically changed their sound to a much more dancey tone, which would go on to lay the foundation of the popular baggy/madchester sound which would dominate the UK mainstream throughout the early 1990's. The Farm would go on to release three moderately successful albums before officially disbanding in 1996, after nearly two decades of activity. Starting in 2004, The Farm reunited to perform a few live shows, until officially reuniting in 2012
