The Creepers were an experimental/alternative rock band from England. Formed in 1982 by frontman Marc Riley after his
departure from The Fall, the group had some success and were acclaimed for their bizarre, gothic-esqued post punk inspired
sound and Riley's haunting vocals. After releasing five original albums and eight singles, The Creepers ended up disbanding in
1989, and Riley then retired from the music scene and started a career as a radio personality, which he has since become
nationally popular for. In 1997, Riley temporarily returned to the music scene as a member of the comedy band The Shirehorses,
which released a few singles and two albums before splitting in 2001.
